Ok.....

So I'm new on these boards....
and new with Nitro RC.

But I am very fond of Nitro trucks, thier off raoding capabilities, size, power and presence.

I actually sell them on Ebay UK...
I buy cheaply off a US dealer....
And sell em for loads in the UK.....the irony of it is, I dont have one myself

Well basically....
I can keep either.....A Tamiya TC or a Tmaxx.

Which is better?
Take in to account..durability, power, presence, fun factor, quality etc etc....I get both for exactly the same price.
$300 each inc shipping to UK.
Not a bad deal eh?

So tell me what you think?

Edit: Spelling (twice!!! need to leave a good first impression :D )

I'm not sure which one is better. But I might get a tmaxx soon because I heard alot of good things about it.

savage all the way

you may want to check out the savage, ever since its debut in october, sales have shown that it sold more units then tmaxx or the TC. Its 1/8 scale, not 1/10...

I realise the TC is bigger.which is a definate plus.
But slower which is a minus....
and not as good at wheelies....
But has better traction and less lickely to flip......
But I'm not sure in the durabilty and quality department.

I mean..is the speed difference that noticable?
Is the size difference really that noticable?

stock savage cant reverse, how ever the reverse module is out

for 39.99 at towerhobbies.com, it requires a servo to operate.

i got a new savage, trust me, it is good.

you should consider getting a savage or a NEW 2.5 T-maxx

Like I said......

Its either a T-Maxx 2.5 or a Terra Crusher.

I get these cheap...brand new...factory sealed.
I get them at about $240...plus shipping to UK.

A Savage would set me back $400+.

My delaer said he's stock on savages in the summer.
So the wait is on.

So...bump em up.

Which is it.....TC or New Tmaxx.

OH PLEEEAAAASSSEEE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE tell your dealer to give me that deal too! I want to buy a new T-maxx but (being a college student) Money is sort of not there. I'm working hard on raising the cash but if there is any way I could get that deal (which there probably isnt...lol) I would be very happy to say the least!!!

I dont have much to offer in return, but
I can beg and grovel at your feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;)

I really cant.

I buy in bulk...that is why I get em cheap.
I bought him out on his T-Maxx's.

And I'm afraid I cant sell you one, because I'd be losing out on way too much money.

I buy for $300
and sell for £400, which works out at $640.00.
See the profit margine?

Then again, I must take in to account taxes and import duty costs.

So basically...
I'm afraid I cant.

Hey no problem! :) That is a cool deal that you have though! And by the way, from what I have been reading so far on this forum I suggest you go with the T-maxx. It comes from a company with a great reputation, Parts are easily attained (I dont know about outside the US though...but then... you get the truck itself pretty easily!) It also has a great reputation on these message boards and it seems that the veterans here are most well informed through experience with the truck. From what I have read its problems are few and what problems it may have are easily cured through the experience of veterans. Experience is key. Another feature that I as a newbie am interested in is the easy start. All in all the T-maxx appears to be the best truck for a beginner by far... and not because it is dumbed down and made easy or because performance is lost... it is just the opposite... The truck seems to have been made so well that it is both good for the beginner and it can certainly hold its own and even spank the other trucks when put to the test.

So I would suggest that you use one of those T-Maxx that you can get for such a good deal! Hopefully I'll be getting one soon too!

Cheers sonman...nice mini review.
You made me feel guilty now..

I am going with T-maxx now. Definately.
My 2.5 is on its way...4-10 days delivery.

I've laready started buying stuff for it.
I've got someone custom painting a hum-vee body in a black colour. With redish japanese symbols and patterns....making it look proper gangster.

And I got some spare Terra Crusher tyres and wheels to put on it too... alog with purple aluminium hub caps...
a new charger and battery aswell.

So It's all looking good. :rainfro:

Sorry....I just had to use that icon...it rocks.

Hey I'm glad that I helped!!! I dont think you or I will be disapointed! (Whenever i can afford mine that is!) I'm glad that this forum exists to get help, though, cause knowing myself I'm gonna need it.

Don't feel guilty; you have to protect your livelyhood. I can wait and in the meantime read on this forum and soak up all the knowledge I can about the truck first.

Keep me updated, if you would, about your progress with the truck!
