OS.18TM taking a while to get with the program..
Does it take a while for the os.18TM to really come into its own? I have about 7-8 tanks through it now, completed break in a few tanks ago, and it's really lacking power and top speed.. Am I just too used to big blocks or does this engine just take a while to break out? I run at about 250 Degrees with the lid on and about 240 with it off. It wont even think about backflipping nor wheelying.. Also, I'm running 20% sidewinder, should I bump it up to 30%? I forgot to say that I also run the trinity pipe.

Well, compared to my TM, and Binarys old TM, that performance is real bad. We raced Revos with TM's all last summer. They are sick at 220. Real sick! At 250, they should be just amazing. But the funny thing is, "fast eddie" bought one before our final RC Pro race. His has GOT to be a lemon. It ran horrible, and overheated during every qualifier. We worked on that thing all day, tweaking it. It just had horrible power, at any acceptable temp. When he got it running right, it was way over 300. Hearing your story, i almost have to think they had a group of motors go out with some bad front bearings. Or some bad port work. That motor should wheelie when it hits second gear. Mine always has... Do you have the center diff installed? That would eliminate your wheelies real fast.

Nope, no center diff. Thing is, it hold a tune awesomely (probably the best tune holding engine i've ever had) and the temps stay extremely consistant. Great motor, just seems like it hasn't "kicked in" yet..

You say you are used to Bb engines...which ones and in what vehicle? Reason i ask is the 18tm is, IMO, likely the best engine out there for the revo (I had a couple, but have since ran only Bb engines...4 of them to be exact). My os's tuned very well, great temps, good power - they just worked well...in my experience the 18's seem to be broken in more quickly then a BB engine (seems like it takes about a gallon in my BB engines to get to full power)

Wow i just got back in from bashing outside and this thing is coming around FAST. Finally backflipping, still not wheelies but PLENTY of torque.. I'm very pleased with my REVO. Tough as nails. Granted I run RPM everything, Lunsford pushrods, extra firm springs, etc.. but I had just as many hop ups on my LST and it would have never taken the abuse my revo 3.3 (OS. 18TM'ed) takes.. The LST was a great truck but it was just too heavy IMO. Different strokes for different folks.
