What should i get for my first nitro RC?
 

What should i get for my first nitro RC? I am more into bashing and jumping, so i am geussing i should get a monster truck. I want something that is fast, strong, and can take a beating.

Savage X SS is probably the best for bashing, maybe an LST2(though more for racing.. Faster and bigger than a Savage though..) If you're on a budget, an MGT is a good first nitro MT..

Well, a lot of people on the forums have the Traxxas Revo. There are loads of upgrades for it if your not happy with the already tough stock setup. However, there's also the Associated MGT and HPI Savage which can take a beating too. Traxxas and HPI will most likely be found in almost any LHS so parts support is definately there. If I were you I'd stick to the MGT, Savage, Revo, or LST (if you have the money for an LST). My pick, according to a friend's experience with his: Revo.

The MGT is a really good deal. You can get one from www.hobbytron.com for only $338. It has all metal gears, reverse, and much more. I just picked one up and I"m really happy. I think the Savage is a good truck, but it seems like a money pit and I think it's way more than it should be.

the MGT is probably one of the better trucks on the market, bang-for-the-buck wise. the Savage is top dog (and I own one because I think this, not the other way around:D) the Revo is another truck. you really can't go wrong with any of them, aside from the warhead..but since I don't have one I'll refrain from additional comments:)

i agree with with tunderbird junkie. the MGT is perfect what you want all metal gears 2-SPEED reverse and its all RTR! this is truly the truck for the person on a budget.

I really liked the fact that you can lower and raise the chassis on the duratrax warhead, and i was also reccomended the volcano SV and the Earthquake, so im still on the edge on what to get. By the way, thanks for the help so far guys!

the Volcano and Earthquake are good trucks, but the parts availability from Redcat is sketchy at best.

Yeah, everone carries Associated parts. Dont' get a Warhead. Really bad rep and reliability.
