rotating tires and shocks?

rotating tires makes sense, and how often should i do it?...........and sum1 told me about rotating shocks, like the left to the right and the right 2 the left, i see how this might with a favortism to 1 side, but i just thought i would post it and see wat u guys (and gals) thought, thanxx!

i rotate mine after about a gallon of fuel. front goes to the back and vice versa.
