nitro rustler 2.5 or maximum st?
 

hi i found out at my lhs that the nitro rustler 2.5 with ez start is cheaper(324.00cnd) than the maximum st(370.00cnd). Whats better for the price, and quality. thanks

my freind has a rustler with 2.5...that thing flies!-----> and its gone...the rustler is so worth the money..me myself has a tmaxx 2.5...GO WITH THE RUSTLER.SOO MUCH BETTER

I like Traxxas products better than Duratrax.

I have the 2.5 Rustler (have not run it yet) and I would agree that it's a better rig than the ST.

I also have the 2.5 TMaxx and this engine is very powerful. Check my gallery pictures for the over sized tires I have on the TMaxx. Even with that much extra weight....it flies!

i myself had a max st.....good quality for da price, my friend had rustler wit da trx....again a great truck

sinse the rustler has the 2.5 i say go with the rustler

I have no experience with the ST. But my friend has the 2.5 Rustler. And I got to drive it several times. All I can say is this thing is insane! :D
Couple the power of the 2.5 with a 5 lb vehicle, add a open planetary diff and you are in for loads of out of control fun. :D

This Rustler will whip a unexpected doughnut on you in the blink of an eye. The engine hits torque peak at around 25 MPH. This makes accelerating quite interesting. If you nail the throttle too hard, depending on traction, one of two things will happen. One, the Rusler will whip a doughnut. Or two, it will accelerate in a fairly straight line. But when the engine starts nearing the torque peak the front end will start lifting up. Wheelstands at 20 MPH. :stupid:

Anyway I think the 2.5 Rustler is a lot of fun. It keeps you on your toes trying to keep it under control. :)

Now my friend doesn't think the Rustler is insane enough. He is now building a Nitro Stampede with a Sirio 3.0. :eek:
I can't wait to drive that one. :)

OMG! Your friend's INSANE! Man... a Sirio 3.0 Stampede... *shudders* The stampede with the .15 Pro is insane! The stampede with a 2.5 would be frickin ballistic... but the Sirio... your friend must like lots buying lots of parts... that's gonna be hard to handle (I'd assume anyways.). Man.. I bet you could throw some T-maxx size tires on that pede and I bet it would act just the same... *sigh* Sorry I keep repeating myself, but that's just crazy... Wish your friend the best for me!

im pretty sure the rustler would go faster than 25mph.. i mean the tmaxx with 2.5 goes 40 and thats heavier.. am i wrong?

yea it goes alot faster than 25mph..... He was just saying how it does wheelies at 25 mph cause the torq is at its highest there.

Go w/ the rustler.Duratrax seem more entry level.Traxxas should at least be competetive if you decide to race.
The 2.5 will kick butt!

Yes the 2.5 Rustler is faster than a Maxx. Traxxas claims a top speed of 47+MPH vs. 40+MPH for the Maxx. I haven't seen them run side by side so I cannot confirm these claims. But 47+MPH is not too shabby for a single speed tranny. :)

I am can't wait to see my friends' Sirio-Pede. Maybe he will let me be the test pilot/crash test dummy like he did with the Rustler. :D
