Are Himoto Trucks good or no?

Hi, Im an average RC guy. I dont race, i basically like to let my dogs chase my car. Unfortunatley they ruined my old Team Losi truck and I can't find the gears for it so I decided to just get a new truck. Im looking for inexpensive, but I also know inexpensive can me crap. Are the Himoto VIPER XST or the ELDORADA worth $250. Are they going to break a lot? Are the parts pretty interchangable to HPI or Traxxas? Do they really go 60mph as advertised on ebay? Thanks for any help or info you can give!

no Himoto dont do 60mph, thats false advertising. Parts are not interchangeable and they are not good cars. HImoto = crap

I will suggest CEN 1/10 trucks for around $250. http://www.cenracing.com/rckits.html If you want to spend $350, you can look into HPI and AE too.

The Himoto Viper XST has a top speed of 37.5mph with the .18 engine. If you saw 60 on ebay, they meant to put 60kmph. The truck is very fast for its size, parts are durable. But, just like all other r/c's parts tend to break or wear out. The first thing to go out on my Viper was the plastic main gear in the differential, but I replaced it with a aluminum version himoto offers and problem solved. The truck is easy to work on and for the most part was worth the money. Very beginner friendly.

I think the st1 is in the 250 range on amain, was the last time I looked anyway. I hear its a great deal, even a steal at that price.

I have the Himoto Rancho Pro. It's more than you stated that you want to spend, but it's the only himoto I own. I bought it last fall at the I hobby expo in chicago. I got a great deal on it. I bought it as a basher...and BASH I did. I put it through hell and it seemed to take a good beating. So far, nothing broken. It seemed fairly easy to tune for me. The radio it comes with is very low end and cheap, so I swaped it out with a futaba 2PL. I get bored very easy, so I like to experiment. Last time I ran it, I doubled up the ramps. I put one ramp, about mid way on top of the other ramp, so I would have a steeper curve and get more height. I had it about 8 to 10 feet in the air, it came down hard and still road away like it was nothing. I'm not bragging, just telling my experience. It wouldn't be my first choice, but they are decent. My brother on the other hand is a little more extreme. He likes to see what it take to destroy things. For him, Himoto has been great. He bought one of their MT's and has replaced a few parts. The support and customer service from exportpro.biz is awesome. They always seem to get him his parts fast. I guess they're connected to himoto some way. Keeping in mind my brother is a nut. He likes to smash his Himoto into brick walls on buildings to see how many times he can do it before it will stop running. The only reason I bought mine was because I didn't want to leave the hobby expo empty handed I guess ! LOL

Himotos are very good vehicles for the price. I also have the Rancho Pro. No problems so far. Alwas starts fast, holds it's tune and very realiable. Here is a thread with pics of mine.

HSP makes the rcs for Himoto as well as Redcat so parts and upgrades are very available. Here is another vid of the Rancho.

I would recommend a Traxxas Nitro Sport or an Hpi Firestorm, both around $250. Parts are much easier to find for those two, I highly doubt that many hobby stores will carry Himoto parts.

I order all my parts online, even for my VXL. Cheaper, more selection and better customer service. I hate dealing with retarded kids working a lhs.[8D]

Any sees this ignore most of these comments

Himoto is a brand.. any nitro car/buggy ect is all interchangeable unless your a spastic if it comes off a new one can go on put it that way... you may have to match it up with a different brand ect but it's changeable & that's the hole fun of having a nitro you use it u look after it you upgrade it over time you don't need to go spend $800 for something decent although by time you finished you'd of probably spent that lol but it will be your car to your specs and probably piss all over them... half of these don't have a clue they just own a bog standard nitro and think they know cus they do racing round there local park 😂🤣
