Are you too cheap to buy $3 worth of proven stuff?

You need 100% pure silicone oils otherwise you will run the chance of leaks and eating o-rings and of the plastic parts. Motor oil is not so friendly in comparison.

i use full size motorcycle fork oil, and get it from my local cycle repair shop. it comes in different weights, so you just need to try some to see what weight works best for you. as an example, on my hpi baja with rezzi's on the shocks. i run 20 weight all around, with different hole patterns on the pistons
