engine bump start?
whats that?
LRP 32809 Z.28R Z28R SPEC 3 TRUGGY.28 ENGINE BUMP START has no pull start or roto start and are un-reliable, create excess heat and lots of drag on the crankshaft ... reducing horsepower and torque???? is it true? |
RE: engine bump start?
Actually the opposite. Not having a pull starter or roto start back plate decreases weight and takes the load off the motor. You use a starter box that has a rubber wheel and the wheel contacts the flywheel to start the motor. Many racers use them.

[link=http://www.smfstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=952]LRP #32802[/link] is the same engine but with a pullstart, if that's what you're interested in.
Pullstarts and roto-starts do add a slight amount of drag and weight to the engine, but it's negligible and I doubt you'd ever notice the difference in performance. |
