RE: XTM Monster MT
Overall its a great truck. the only downside is the parts is a little scarce. Might have to go to ebay and get parts.
|
RE: XTM Monster MT
For the money, i'd say get an MGT. Go look on the, "Anyone got and MGT??!!" thread.

RE: XTM Monster MT
Parts aren't hard to get and its a killer truck.................everything has a down side right [:o] this big brut is all good accept the tires and I think its because of it sitting on them all the time when being shipped. I have had to replace a few of them for customers with no problem after ward..........take it for what its worth, I've sold 6 of them and 4 I have broken in at my shop and to me its proved itself. RE: XTM Monster MT
yup my rims were destroyed after 4 runs ,seems that the truck has too much torqu and literally riped the rims to shreads from the inside out. the new ones i have seemed to fair better . i think they just had a bad batch of plastic on the first run trucks.
here is mine still running rich after 1/2 gallon of fuel strong truck and engine a great basher for a truggy and the price cant be beat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vk27RW8Pb0 |
RE: XTM Monster MT
I have heard nothing but good things about it, its THE largest MT
|
RE: XTM Monster MT
how has the driveline bin holding up
|
RE: XTM Monster MT
there really isint a drivetrain its got a 2 speed like a truggy no slipper and front and rear diffs . so far i have a gallon on the motor and the nemesis rims and still going
|
RE: XTM Monster MT
does that .28 move it pretty well, you have some pics with nemesis rims
|
RE: XTM Monster MT
yes but in the grass its a little over geard i think with a smaller pinion 1st gear it would move faster. i still havent put the center diff in i have it sitting on the shelf, that would help alot in speed off the line

these are the pics with the nemesis rims:D

RE: XTM Monster MT
That .28 mooves it great and there aren't any drive train problems just tires. Once the tires are replaced I haven't seen any problems at least for a couple of gallons. That 459 or .28 doesn't come alive till your through about a half gallon[X(]
I just noticed the single speed trans............I haven't had time to try that out, lets us no if you do it and how it works out if you would please:) |
RE: XTM Monster MT
Anyone know what other motors will bolt in?
|
RE: XTM Monster MT
Some one said the other day they had an axial .30 and I know the Sure Fire 32 will work........there are a lot of fits out there if you look hard, That 28 that comes with it is no slouch [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17&products _id=282]stock 459 or .28[/link] and the next one is a screamer [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17&products _id=217]457 pro .28 6 port[/link];)

RE: XTM Monster MT
Hey you guys think there is some way to get the xtm tranny to work in the mgt.
that would be nice to have that easy looking tranny. |
RE: XTM Monster MT
They will make it look worse next year when they come out with the reverse for it and I don't think that would be an easy task to switch those 2. [:'(]

RE: XTM Monster MT
I wouldnt say an LST2 would look small next to them at all, but it is a tad smaller. Check the dimensions

RE: XTM Monster MT
I was just wondering if anyone had the answer to this. I am new in this whole rc thing. I traded for a used monster mt and I am having a problem with it. When I first started it up, I gave it gas and it had to pick up speed. Like a bad clutch in a car. The second time I started it up, It does not move. It runs and the fan wheel moves like it is supposed to. Does anyone have a idea on what is wrong? Thanks New Guy

RE: XTM Monster MT
Have you checked the clutch shoes? If they are worn, they can't grab the bell pinion and engage the drive train.
This may help, check page 45 of this manual download. [link=http://media.hobbypeople.net/manual/145621.pdf]XTM MMT Manual[/link] One thing for tip, on most nitro's clutch shoes fan out in the spinning direction. On the big XTM MMT, and Mammoths they go on opposite of the spin. |
