Locktite question??????
 

Alright, I'm used to using locktite while working on my car that I drive everyday, but my question is this. What type of locktite should I be using or rather, what strength? I was thinking that the blue (medium) strength locktite might be a bit to much considering that I am using them on machine screws, some with philips heads and others with alan heads. I thought that the purple (light strength) might be best. Let me know what ya'll have been using. Thanks :D

Blue seems to be universal around here.

It works great for my trucks, holds enough they don't fall out but are still able to be backed out when needed.

Too strong?!

Dude your R/C car sees vibration thats only found in machinery like treeshakers and stuff :) 30-35k RPM is a lot of vibration!

Blue seems to hold up great. I dont think the locktite being "too strong" is an issue at all!

Whatever you do, don't use the red stuff (loc-tite 262). If applied to prepared surfaces, heat must be applied to remove the fastener.

You should be using loc-tite 243. It is medium strength, vibration resilient, oil tolerant, and fasteners can be removed with hand tools.

These guys are right, use the blue. Been using it on my TMAXX for a while now and very rarely do I have a screw loose (boy would my wife argue that last statement!)..
