why do people put zipties around there head(cooling head that is:D) like here

Nah, cover the zip ties in 1/4 inch segments of fuel tubing before installing:D

+1 I do that for my OS 21 VZB because I'm paranoid about it. You can also get an RPM cooling head protector if they have it for your engine.
