First accident

Well i had my first accident with my MGT 4.6. I was racing around the parking lot at work when the receiver pak died (no fail safe). The truck took off full pin and slamed into the axle of an 18 wheeler. Now for the damage. Front shock mount, body mount 1 broke and 1 bent aluminum shocks a spur gear striped, 1 motor mount screw almost pulled thought the frame and the front of the cooling head bent stright up and flat. Oh and the roll bar twisted all to hell and i did not have the body on.........................Now for the fixing....................................Murph

P.S. I dont even have the first gallon of gas thought it yet.

A failsafe would not have helped if you lost power. A throttle return spring may be something worth looking into. When you lose power from your RX pack it will pull the throttle closed so it doesn't runaway as fast.

The mgt comes with a throttle return spring.

Maybe the RX pack didn't die then?

Get a stronger throttle return spring. Ive also learned my lesson of not having a throttle return spring. A runaway buggy is never fun and curbs or buildings are not nice to buggies going full speed. [:@]

Return spring that it comes with doesn't work well. If you loose signal it will run away. That is more likely if it's very dead the receiver pack then you should feel it in the steering and realize you should pack it in.

A failsafe will kick-in when the batteries get low though. It just wont help if it suddenly loses power, like a wire breaks or something.

"An axle on an 18 wheeler" Some one could have keyed the mic on a high powered C.B. and you got sever interference..... Just a thought, I used to drive OTR and a high powered radio can cause some crazy things...I have one that will with cell phones and fm radios. LOL!!!
