If you stop and think about it, how many RTR MT's are there that you wouldn't seriously consider replacing the engine in? The only one I can think of is the EK4. The T-Maxx has the stalling issues with the 2.5, the Savage is severely underpowered, the Terra Crusher is severely underpowered, the list goes on and on. My point is, it would be silly to base the purchase of an MT soley on its engine. You've got to look at the whole package. As a total package the Maxx and the Savage are 2 MT's that are tough to beat, despite their engine issues. Both are tough, both handle well, and both have a plethora of parts available for them. My advise, buy a Maxx and replace the 2.5 with a Sirio .18 or Fantom FR18, or buy a Savage and replace its .21 with a Picco .26 and be done with the engine worries.

I would suggest buying the T-Maxx and just selling the 2.5 as new (some people are getting as much as $160.00 on E-bay). That is just shy of what it costs for the Serio which I'm told is the engine to get for the Maxx. I'm still waiting for mine from Tower. When I get I will post what I think about it and whether its all that people say it is. I sure hope it is.

I have 2 TMaxx 2.5's - the only problem that I had was over heating. It would stall when it got to hot. I bought a temp gun and can adjust everything they way it needs, now no problems at all.

Well - I have 1 problem. My wife won't stop wrecking hers into things and breaking it. :)

But then again - if you are not breaking anything, then you are not driving right.

So let me get this straight, I'm supposed to be running into things and breaking parts? I've been doing this thing wrong the whole time!

My 2.5 does'nt run long enough for me to crash since the 5th tank. This is why my truck looks so good.

It is just a joke - one weekend my wife ran into a flag pole that she was 20 ft away from so it is not like she can not see it. So I fixed her truck.

The following weekend she ran it into a basket ball pole. I fixed it again.

She has a depth perception problem. It is a real problem, but we joke around that she is not driving it right unless she is breaking something. :)

I am sorry - but this made me laugh. Yeah if you can not drive it, it would probly still look new.
