How to modify an engine

I have an OS18TM, that after I replace the back plate and starter shaft will be running again. Since it lost so much life from an airleak around the starter shaft, I am going to rebuild it this spring. I am wondering how to mod it for more power just to try it out type of thing. I tried using the search engine, and found everything else. Seeing as I will be rebuilding it this spring, I'm not as worried about shortened piston/sleeve life at this point that would happen from modding it. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: How to modify an engine

There are a couple of threads talking about modding, here are a couple I remember off the top of my head.

These are long reads, but they are very full of info.

RE: How to modify an engine

Thanks for the info. I read through both, and dug out my old 2.5 that came out of my Revo, as well as the old sleeves from it as well. Did practice on them(already pretty steady with a dremel to begin with), and after practicing on 3 old sleeves, went at my os18tm's sleeve. Didn't go radical because I can always go back later and do more on it if I feel it is needed, and you can always remove more metal, but can never put it back. I'll see how it works out once I get some other parts in and let you all know. Thanks again for the info.
