standered and digital servos??
The difference is spead power, and accuracy. A digital servo is much more responsive, reliable, and in most cases alot stronger, they can also be programmed to do just about anything, the only down fall of the digital servos is they eat batteries alot faster, But in my opinion they are alot beter all the way around, I run the hitec 5945 and 5925 on my truck with an 1100mah NIMH 6 volt battery pack, get lots of run time with this set up, but they do eat the juice alot faster then standard servo's. My addvice to you is if your gonna spen $50-60 on a good analog servo, just spend the extra bucks on a good digital servo you will not be disapointed!! I would recomend the hitec 5945mg digital servo to steer any big truck @ 183oz of torque and a transit of .13 @6v, and for only about $75-80 you can pick one up, now if you want the king of steering you need to go with the Airtronic 358 or 359 they run about $110+ but have about 200oz of torque and a transit of something like .08 sec.

standered and digital servos??
If you are running the stock radio a standard would be fine. The digital servos are programmable if you have certain receivers and programmers to act like a failsafe with out having to have a failsafe. You can have them go back to center or any other position you prefer. I myself use the Digital Hitec HS5625 MG. I went digital so when I do upgrade my radio and receiver, I'll be ready to use the failsafe features.
BTW.. that servo has 130 oz. torque and works great even turning the Big Joe or Psycho tires |
standered and digital servos??
Ya the 5625 is a good servo, but Id pass on using it for steering, the servo was designed for throttle and brake, but 130oz + .15sec is a good combo for a lighter truck!! It is stronger then the stocker servo, but not by much, if you had a 5645 in there yould notice a big difference, but with a 5945 yould notice a night and day difference. Anyways Ill be throwing in 2 5625's in the HPI mt Im building.

standered and digital servos??
Yeah,I been thinking of getting a 358 airtronics and moving the Hitec to the throttle/brake. I dont have any problem with steering now, but it cant hurt. :)

standered and digital servos??
Anyone of these in the posts above would be sufficient. Like I said I use the hitec 5625, but if you just want more torque and want to spend more money any would be fine.
