Kyosho 1:8 scale, What are the best mods?
#26

Hello Ray,
Thanks for the quick reply on the Kyosho motorcycles. I did check this out and I guess the company has decided to make these again, but the bad news is that it is coming out of Hong Kong. Not sure if or when it will make it out here. The price is not that good once you add shipping. I also need to find that in a combo deal so I'm not trying to find the radio system to run this. I would like to use the Kyosho set up.

Ray,
Thanks for the good info. I will search around the other auctions to look for the radio equipment. I am trying to find the entire package deal / combo with everything.

It's all there if you look at the "buy now" bikes the RGV and the NSR(65.00by the way) once on that item look at his other auctions it's a long list but near the end you will find the ESC/RX combo unit to get it all going, (it's also about $65.00)
Then all you need is to buy a 6 cell 600Mah pack (look at the one he has in "other auctions" as well but, you decide were you wat to get a pack) and any am futaba transmitter and you are good to go. I think But Do Not Quote me on this, I think you get a TX x-tal with the RX/ESC combo but don't yell at me if you don't. Crystals are easy to come by. I was temped but I am holding out for something else like the possible Ducati Version of the FM-1e Thunder Tiger.

I had a buddy send this link to me, Useless for the FM-1e BUT FOR those with a KYOSHO 1/8th scale and need More Power these motors could possibly do the trick, they are close to the right size, and brushless of course. I think a brushless mod on the Kyosho would make a world of difference if you get the right motor THAT IS.

Hi ray schrauwen :
The brushless motor it is too big to fit in a Kyosho HOR without major work !
Check the AXI 1512/12 : http://www.modelmotors.cz/
For Fongwong :
For brushless the best gear is always the bigger one: 14T ... for wheelies you may try a 6T ... but top speed will be poor.

Hey List,
What battery combo did you use in the NSR, and why did you change the steering servo? Will the stock speed control support an upgraded motor?

I've got one of the NSR500's with oil shock absorber and Speed 300 motor, it's soo quick now but keeps splitting the plastic front sprocket.
I was thinking about fitting the adjustable steering damper, does it make much of a difference?

Hey all, I too have a Kyosho NSR. Just finished building it. I have a DMC20BB motor waiting to go in.
By the Way, the Web site I have been following for many years for these bikes is
http://steliosh.net/rcmoto/index.htm
It has heaps of info and tips from our European Kyosho Bike loving counterparts.
Take a look, has a great deal of hot up kacky type tips. Enjoy.

this is my kyosho with a 540 sized 19 turn motor in it, the bike was very slow even with a upgrade 17 turn standard sized motor. it went well with 14 cells
untill the motor overheated. this should go some..........hopefully
