Default 1/3 Scale Suzuki GSX-R1000 Tyco Bikes!!!!

Hi everyone......was just at a local Toy's R Us shopping for gifts for my little girl and was shocked........there sitting in the r/c section were a pair of HUGE 1/3 scale Suzuki GSX-R 1000 sportbike r/c motorcycles complete with controller and batts.......$99

They are very nicely done and i personally saw a blue-white model and a yellow-black model (there maybe other colors??)......they were nicely scaled and I noticed nice looking rubber tires and nicely styled rider........this is the perfect candidate for a tear-down and conversion to brushless system or hi-power brushed motor and esc or better yet a nitro conversion......

......anyway, Live from NY, you heard it hear first,

Steve Nunez
(Kawasaki ZX10R rider- I wish they had one of these 1/3rd scale!!!!)

I'll be picking up a pair of the tyco models soon- stay tuned for photos.

(Hopefully one of you guys can beat me to it and post photos or video)

Yes I put this in my letter to santa. Had to spend the $100.00 on a gift for my wife for her b-day but I have been good so I hope santa doesn't miss me this year. It sucks that it is snowing now here so I won't be able to report on this for a while, how ever my dads church has a large gym so I might check that out and make some vids of the gixxer.

Hi guys, I was just at the store last night and a store out here called Meijers has it for $69 on sale this week. The vids look pretty good. I wish the riders legs leaned out on turns instead of those things it uses. The box cleverly hid those.

sup everyone! im new to this site and i thought i was cool that i found a tread in regards to the tyco suzuki gsxr1000. funny thing is i got home from work the other day and my wife suprised me with a early christmas gift. the tyco gsxr1000. i have a real full scale 03 gsxr750 so she said she had to get it for me. ok first impressions, detail is pretty cool on this thing and it look exactly like my real bike so i was pretty impressed. performance? ok i guess for a tyco i ran one pack through it and immediately through it on my work bench. after tearing the whole thing down i was shocked when i got to the tranny. it two motors! one 540 for first gear and one 370 mini motor for second! i couldnt believe that little motor was pushing this big bike in second gear. its got to go but the problem so far is figuring out how to lock it in second. my brother also has one of these and we are working on a way to lock it in second. i already modified the steering and installed a hobby quailty servo. now steering is precise! will update as i get further into this project. i have a few pics already but i have no idea to to post them when i figure it out i will get some up. later!

Hey my brother and i have already gotten ours we have modified the tranny and just mounted the steering servo right now just to be nice to it we are just trying out a 17turn motor ..
So when i get off from work to night ill test the speed, if this dosnt work im going to make a custom setup for the motor and tranny latter

you got it kmot and thx for the kind words. the tranny i see is gonna be the toughest part you see this thing shifts via a cpu board. the 540 motor shuts down and the mini 370 motor kicks on when you hit the shift button. im tring to lock it in second but no dice so far. my brother has dumped the entire stock tranny and is tring to bought in a rc10 stealth! ill keep you updated. one thing i can say is this once we figure this thing out it should be a blast it huge and with dumping all the stock electronics this thing weighs in a about 4 pounds tops! gotta be fun! later

sup fellaz! got the brushless in the gsxr tonight. what a difference! this thing is a blast to drive now. so much yank it will spin the rear tire and powersilde(with the traning wheels on of course..plastic front tire has got to go!) all and all i am pleased with the performance it could stand to go up a few teeth on the pinion but the thing is step up to accept only a 13 tooth but a friend of mine is working on a custom mount for me so ill keep you all updated. heres a few pics of the project so far. later!

ridesuki ...... nice work and great updates. I think the detail on those is awesome and from the vids I saw of the stock unit running I thought it wasn't bad. It is of course what it is, Tyco. Not sure why everyone always needs to bash them. They make good products. I have one of the old mcgrath tyco dirt bikes and me and my son love it. That thing does wheelies, jumps and flips and takes a beating and hasn't complained yet. I'm shopping for my first hobby grade RC (looking at a monster truck) and I only hope it gives me the enjoyment all my tyco stuff has over the years.

keep those updates coming!

Default RE: 1/3 Scale Suzuki GSX-R1000 Tyco Bikes!!!!

finally ive finished my bike as you can see my bro is doing the brushless thing but what i have done to the tranny is really different
i took all of the gears out and made a custom tranny set up while using the casing...
i started with a 48pitch gearing but with the torq and the set up of the tranny it was too much on the grears and i was getting to much
flex.. but now im using a 32 pitch gearing and the teeth are a little stronger and it mor forgiving if it start to flex, so we will see what
happens next ... this sunday my brother and i will ron both bikes together and see who's faster LOL and plus he has the right cam to
take the pics so we will see what happens

whats up Kmot we run most our cars at a track called kz micro speedway but when it comes to our project cars we take them to palmdale CA to a large parking lot or field , but kz is located in Sunland California AKA Marvins Hobbies great track and hudge if you ever decide to run there make sure you bring a fast tall gearing because you can top out really quick there ...

by the way im not sure if my bro said anything about this but we also have 2 radio shack Ricky Carmichael bikes they have been
clocked since we moded thenm up to 40 miles and hour HOT HOT HOT and very fun i might add too so stay tuned for pics of those too

I know of a place called SV Speedway. I think it used to be KZ? Anyway, for a local "huge" parking lot I go to the lot just north of CSUN at the corner of Lindley and Lassen.
