Called Venom today and asked about a release date. Said both the bike and new SC truck will be available mid May.
Taking pre-orders right now.

It looks to me that the main frame seems to be some sort of plastic instead of the commomly used aluminum stack frame. It looks very scale.
Seems promising, I hope the larger scale plastic frame will stay rigid & durable enough. If it's made with something like what DuraTrax called their Stress Tech plastic parts, that would be great.
As I found the plastic parts on the DX450 to be extremely durable. Can't wait for Venom to put out some action videos of the bike....

It's bigger than the Duratrax bike. Duratrax is 1/5th scale, this is 1/4 scale they say. Venom says their bike is near 22" in length, DTX is 17" and change so it's not the same bike. The DTX bike is a rebadged bike that has been on the market for some time by another company overseas.
Also, Venom's ride looks more scale and has better, more realistic tires it seems.
Xtreme R/C magazine just reviewed the DTX bike and it got bad reviews off road, they say it always endos and goes all different directions on bumps. They also said the DTX 2.4 radio had nothing but problems.
Hopefully this Venom will handle better too.
We can only wait and see. For the price being the same, I'd go Venom.

The latest news on the VMX450 that I have heard is it will not be available in the US do to a patent issue[&o]. My friend emailed Venom to ask about battery size and the release date, they emailed him back and told them due to a patent issue they would not be able to release it in the US after all. I still see it listed on Tower and other sites so hopefully they will be able to work something out. Has anyone else heard about this?
Email Response:
“Bad news..... After a meeting I had this morning we are going to be unable to sell this product in the use due to patent issues. So this will not be available in the US after all.
Thank youâ€

What a major disappointment. Hopefully we can still get it from sellers in China though like rcmart.
