Ive been in search of the baddest .12 there is for my Losi/Drake XXX-NT...
I like the NOVAROSSI line but Im not sure if its the best... I guess this question is more for the seasoned racer than the average.
I know Im starting out as a bigginer in the world of race, but I dont want anyone to tell me how I need a slower engine to start with.... I want the best and nevermind the rest.... So if you could help I would greatly appreciate it..... Thanks
JOSH

I know you dont want someone to tell you this - but You need a slower engine to start out with, lol. Actually, it doesnt need to be slower, it needs to be easier to tune, and less on the edge.
The extreme race engines are not only a bear to tune but run on the ragged edge - if yor are off only slightly in tuning, the engine will blow - so alot of experience is needed to get these engines to run, or even start.
If you have a seasoned track professional who is willing to help you, and you are dead set on a race engine - here are some good choices.
This is the engine i race with
RB Concepts V12 RODY ROEM Modified 3PORT #RB1700-000415
It lists for 425.00 - i paid 325.00, here is a link

Another great choice is the
NovaMega SX-12 Michael Salvin Modified 3port Race #MEG2103RMS
It lists for 345.00 and ive seen it for as low as 260.00, here is a link

Another u see at the races alot
Paris Racing modified Mugen MR12
It sells for about 300.00, dont have too much info on it.

These are some of the best out there.

Hey nitro addict, what would be the best .12 engine for non race, just a good reliable engine, I looked into the .12 cv-rx and the os engines but what else.

Seems most people i talk to that have that truck, are in love with the Mugen MR12. You will need the rear exhaust pipe/header - but its worth it. Great engine! Another great choice would be the RB Concepts X12 3port, this is rear exhaust as well. both engines are race ready if u decide to go that route, under $200.00 and will turn that truck into a rocket! If you want to stay with side exhaust - nothing can really compare to the OS Max .15CV-R

Are the cv-r and the cv-x the same thing except the cv-r needs a starter box?? Is there a cv-r with a pull start I could get.

The CV-R and the CV-RX are the same engine, the "X" designates it comes with a pullstart.

Oh, ok thanks a lot for clearing that up for me, I think I will go with the cv-rx right now because I dont have the money to buy a starter box with right now.
