Default "Stupid Misakes"

We all make stupid mistakes and thats just what this thread is for to list. I just recently bought a brand new RC10GT which is a very nice powerful truck. When i was done running it one day I made the truck come to a stop in my driveway cause I noticed that it was about to run out of gas. Meanwhile the mistake I made was that I turned off the radio while it was still running and I don't have a failsafe on it so what it did was make the servo go full throttle right into the side of my garage, it had to be going at least 35-40 mph. While this was happening I even turned the radio back on but it kept going, it happened to fast, anyway, my chassis ended up taking the shape of a banana and the reenforcement rods in front bent inward a lot, strangely nothing broke off the truck. I had to take everything off the chassis just to bend it back, and that was the only thing that was damaged. I wish that I would have taken a pic! pretty funny!

Today I had my truck sitting on a steel plate and I had the wheel nuts and some other parts on it. Well I took the steel plate outside and all the nuts slid off somewhere and I dont know where they are.

I worked all day long a while back trying to get my pede started. I took off the carb changed the servo rods becuase they were doing opposite of what they should. Wide open was closing closing the throttle and braking was opening and I never could get it started. I remounted the servo and the saver and flip flopped the rods and still couldnt figure why it was opposite what it should be. Well after working on it about 4 hrs I looked at my controller hit the servo reverse and vaaalllaaaa it fixed it. That was the prob the whole time . I felt so dumb.

LOL that sucks, I have had that problem, I was playing around w/ my Jr Radio, and I programed it or something it would only turn one way and barely turn the other way. Well I got it fixed but I did everything to try and fix it took the servo out etc..

I also on a cold day was going to bash around w/ my son, and ended up doing a head on w/ him bandit vs. overdrive st. Traxxas won. Overdrive st had a busted shocktower mount/bulkhead. Sucked but got it fixed and enjoyed my son's antics.

damn I had my GT at full speed with a tweaked out AE .15 doing atleast 40 on pavement. Flew behind my buddies van and the GT came skipping back doing about 20. (i hit a curb head on) This was right when the RTR came out.... about 2 weeks after

The aftermath- the chassis was tacoed, broke both tube mounts, bent both tubes, fractured brand new painted body, snaped steering servo mounts, broke transmitter mount, cracked fuel cell and had no car for the rest of the day!!! [] I still got the chassis and when i get time Ill take a pic of it and post it up here

A friend of mine, I just convinced to get into RC, purchased a brand new XXX-T RTR he was excited, got batteries for it, charged, etc.. we took it out in the hotel parking lot (we were on travel in Denver) and he was cruising it around this is his first "real" r/c and after a few high speed runs, he for some reason at full throttle runs into a parked mini van tire, lol. Ended up snapping the kickplate and bulkhead. Lucky the XXX-T is not a single chassis, like the xxx nt, it has seperate pieces to break. So like 8 bucks later he out in the parking lot again, this time, he snaps just the bulkhead hitting jumps w/ the truck because it is pretty cold out, and he is done, so he has to purchase another bulkhead, okay? here he goes to the LHS and gets a bulkhead/kickplate but its for a XXX-NT, lol but this time he just needs the shockmount part (bulkhead) and gives me the kickplate. It was funny to see him frustrated, he almost gave up the hobby and tried to sell the truck but i kept encouraging him.

The next discouraging moment for him was he got his XXX-t up and running, I upgraded my mini-t and here this little bitty truck goes almost as fast as his. blew his mind he couldnt believe it lol. Oh well cant wait to see him at the bmx track this summer hitting some jumps.
