RE: BUYING A STADIUM TRUCK
id really like to buy the ad2 but cant see spending $350 on the kit if all you can do is race it. why is the ad2 not as durable as the gt? does the ad2 break easier? youd think for the price the ad2 would be as durable if not stronger than the gt. what would you have to do to the ad2 to make it more durable so you can use it to go bashing? i dont want to buy a st, then be too scared to run it hard because i might break something. thanks....tim

My advice, get a cheap rc10gt to get your feet wet with.. If you like running 1/10 and want to get the most competitive truck money can buy move on to the AD2. But i think its best if you just find a used GT roller or go on and buy a new one. The GT will be competitive, so its not like your buying a seriously downgraded truck. Get a GT and grow with it, then once you feel the truck is letting you down when you know all the ropes move on to the newest best thing. My 2cents.

Your original post led me to believe you are going to be racing your truck. If so, get the XXXNT or GT kit. I think the original XXXNT Drake is about $260? Thats not really a lot of money for a top of the line kit.
Everytime I pick up a XXXNT I am amazed at how light it is. That's what makes it fast but mayby its also why its not quite as durable as the GT. Still, the XXXNT is not a weak truck. Its just not as strong as the GT which is the leader in the segment for overall durability and availability of hop up parts. Mostly, because its been around forever. The stealth transmission is amazingly durable and trouble free.
Other than the GT or XXXNT they are pretty much the same. If your just bashing, just get the one you like the best. Just about every manufacturer offers a stadium truck good enough for that.

RE: BUYING A STADIUM TRUCK
My Nitro Evader is VERY durable, and I rarely break things. However, I have never owned a GT, but just sold my factory team T3 and can say one thing, Associated knows how to build a tough R/C vehicle. That T3 was a very durable vehicle and was well built.
I was going to buy a GT, but I like the more up to date features of the N-Evader. There is something about a $260 truck that has the receiver taped to the chassis, and the battery holder ziptied to the rear bumper that doesn't sit right with me.
Just get whatever floats your boat. The XXX-NT is more durable than people say but there are stronger ST's out there.

To make the GT even stronger RPM has its back with alot of upgades and aftermarket...xxx-nt does not.

The gt is not as good of a racer that people think. Have any of you seen the gt's that run in the national races? I have seen Jarad Tebo's gt upclose. Every part on his truck it custom made and is not available to the public. That is the only reason why he can compete a the gt.

the XXXNT AD2 is JUST as tough as my RC10GT. just much harder to work on.

RE: BUYING A STADIUM TRUCK
durability-wise, no thanks@the evader. the truck handles good, but if I owned one, it'd only live on the racetrack.
even so, I wouldn't buy an Evader ST unless I had the other big players in the ST market
