I agree, just somehow control my urge to correct people.. when I was a kid, my dad drilled this into me..
motor runs off of electricity
engine runs off of fuel
(typically - there are exceptions)
anyhow, back to the original question - I'd pick that new OS engine the .12 TZ or .18TZ sounds like a monster.. but that's just me..

That STS is a big-block, the 2.5 is NOT. They make a CONVERSION to fit a BB in some of the 2.5 equppied vehicles but it is NOT a direct replacement.

I'd go with a 3 port rather than a 5 port, the 3 port will generally have better lowend power, the 5 port will have better topend.

And yes the sts is a direct replacement for the 2.5
It fits in the stock 2.5 mounts because the engine is the same width and length
And the stock flywheel and clutch from the 2.5 fits
And its pull start
And it has a same style slide carb
Anything else you can think of Frost that would prove me wrong let me know, and by the way here is a STS .28 in my truck that i took the TRX 2.5R out of.....
It fits in the stock 2.5 mounts because the engine is the same width and length
And the stock flywheel and clutch from the 2.5 fits
And its pull start
And it has a same style slide carb
Anything else you can think of Frost that would prove me wrong let me know, and by the way here is a STS .28 in my truck that i took the TRX 2.5R out of.....

Dude he's talking about a Jato...that's not a Jato you got there and your 2.5 as you claim isn't a 2.5r it's a marine water cooled engine.

btw as to quote the retailer of the sts .28....
In other words it won't fit dude and it's also not a "drop in" choice for a Jato, and your pictures never show a 2.5R engine...thats a Traxxas .15 marine engine in your car which isn't even a Jato to begin with.
And why do you post under 2 different names located in two different area's? Do you enjoy talking to yourself?
btw as to quote the retailer of the sts .28....
It's designed to be used on Monster Truck, but also be used with 3.5 cc cars that same dimensions as many standard 3.5 cc engine.

i don't get y he put the water cooled one on there....its kinda cool..but extremely useless in the fast if you wreck your screwed and the lines seem to small to have effective cooling to me but w/e...idk

Sorry, RCNitro did head to heads with the 18s.... the OS AND the Epic made more HP, more RPMs than the mega-expensive Sirio.... The results (in order by engine) have been posted a half-dozen times in this forum already...
