I like to keep my engine on my jato around 210, it seems like it runs best around that temp. I have the settigns all right and everything, like it sounds awsome with good response, it just wont do a wheelie, not that its important, i just worries me a little that my 2.5 isnt putting out as much power as ti could. Is that possible that some 2.5 could maybe put out less than others, jsut because of the manufacturer. Thanks!

yes but the temp . is governed by the high speed needle mainly, so your low speed could still be way off, what % nitro are you using?brand?

ive palyed around with the low speed needle a lot and finally found the sweet spot, but still wont do wheelies unless i hit a little bump. Its sounds great and screams when i accelerate, but for some reason it wont do a wheelie. Could it be b/c I have the battery pack in the middle of the car instead of back. I wouldnt think that would make much of a difference. I think i am going to swap teh 2.5 with the os 18tm. I hear that gives a lot of power!!!!!

St's arent made to wheelie but if you want it to, put some off road tires on with a more aggressive tread, stiffen the rear suspension and make sure the battery packs in the rear if this dosnt work tighten the slipper a bit.

When I had my RC-10 GT tuned right, I had a hard time keeping the front end on the ground offroad. When I was onroad, it wouldn't get enough traction to pull the front tires.
Get some Proline Step pins or something similar for the rear and run it offroad a few times. I'm sure the 2.5 will show you wheelies.
If that motor can pull wheelies in a T-maxx, I know it will in a Jato if you can get traction.

Dirt Hawgs are a good long lasting all around tire, but if you want to hook up and pull wheelies, you need Proline Step Pins or Bowties or some racing tire like that. The softer the compound, the better traction. But they will wear out faster.

How do you know when you have the slipper clutch to tight. I tightened it some today and did notice a little difference in power. But I dont want to get it to tight. If anyone here wants to see how my jato runs at top speed, I have a video of it in the st thread. Of course you all want to see it. Who wouldnt want to see another jato video. How often do you get to see one lol!

To check the slipper, hold both back tires and try to rotate the spur gear with your thumb. A correctly set slipper(for offroad) will be difficult to turn the spur. Tighten or loosen slightly for various traction conditions.
Also, the battery placement makes a HUGE difference. It is one of the heavier items in the vehicle, and placed behind the axle gives it that much more weight due to leverage.
I moved mine in my RC10 GT, and it made all the difference.

the more you tighten the slipper the harder its going to be to drive offroad because with all that torque going to those tires with no slip your going do be putting a smile on every cops face with all the donuts your going to be making
