Default nitro rustler engine mount BIG PROBLEM

well as many of you know that the nitro rustler with teh trx.pro.15 uses a 2 part engine mount system, 2 pieces that attach directly to the engine, and then the part that attachs to the frame and then engine sits on it, well that part that attachs to the chasis one of the 4 screws has broken off, so i tried drilling it out like last time(last time was cuz i stripped it) and it didnt work, i totally ****ed up the threads, so what i was thinking instead of going to the LHS(its closed anyways, dam katrina) and getting new engine mounts, i thought of getting a bolt that is the same size, put it through the hole, and put a nut on the other end, if anyone needs a better discription please tell me, i need help!!

TIA

Hey NRR, long time no see... Yea, you could do that. I did the same things for my engine mount once when the threads got messed up. Nice little quick fix never hurt anything. [sm=thumbup.gif]

If you can get vise grips on the broken bolt, just heat that sucker up and it should back out, then just replace the bolt.

yep good to be back....had alot of school issues so i wasnt on here much....but i did put the screw through, it wnt fine, but part of the nut is ontop off the lower part of engine mount, and screw bent a bit, but this is a temporary replacement, so in the near future im going go to lowe's or somthing and get a smaller bolt/nut, but anyways i got some more things painted on ym rusty and some masher 2k's in the rear, if you go the to stadium truck gallery v2 thread, you will see in the last page i posted some pics of my 2 st's

thanks for the info tho

yea but at first i started to drill like i usually do, it went well until i notice the drill bit oing in side ways, so i back out and find out its ****ed up, so i flip the mount around and try to do it from there and it goes the other so i have one straight through hole in it, and one hole that is half way through, but it works now, thanks for the advice, im gonna do that next time if it happens again instead of drilling
