Hey guys, well I put that heli on the shelf and just ordered this lil truck. I have been reading through the forums and see some things that need upgrading. Any ideas on good suppliers for these upgrades in the USA? or should I just hit the LHS.

you may have to grind some of the chassis for the OS .18. I don't think it would be too much power.

Yeah man, all i had to do was gring the mount a bit, it wasent that hard to install it. And the Pullstart fits fine. It has ALOT of power, lol, hard to keep the wheels on the ground, like i said, tore my transmission to bits. just losen the slipper and itll be fine i guess :P

I bought a Nitro Sport about a month ago, I've run in the engine and tuned the car. - But no matter what I do, the engine always overheats and stalls. I've got a hole in the windshield, I'm using 16% Fuel. An help on ths this would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Possibly too late and youve already cooked it, but your running too lean, give the high speed needle a good half turn anti clockwise.. Should help ya out!

I was doing the same thing till I realized that it has to be a lot richer than I thought as specially after is gets more run in .
I started on 2 & 1/4 turns out which samed to be right at first but as I got thru about 8 tanks of gas or more it started cutting out even though the tuning sounded right to me.

try 3 turns out and you may find that it is harder to get going to start with , it burbbles a lot more when cold but you need to do a few high speed passes untill the motor clears and revs out to top speed.
even then try to go slightly richer then you would like to , its better for the engine it will run cooler, after you get a couple of litres thru it it will go like a rocket , at lease thats what happened to mine.
I can always tell its spot on cause it does 20 foot long wheelies off only a slightess bump on the grass. also order some good back tyres the first ones will be worn out in no time beleive me! lol

Cheers Jas

Thanks for the comments, firstly, If I have cooked it, can I repair it? Secondly, I've been running the car really rich and it still overheats. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks guys

If it has been cooked good and proper, your better off buying a TRX 2.5R and replacing the tired old pro.15.. Iv got a 2.5R ready for when my pro.15 gives up on things.. You can buy rebuild kits, but its not really worth it for that motor.. Dont get me wrong, I love the pro.15! Its just a waste of $$ when you can upgrade for a little more..

Also, what makes you think your running it rich? Any chance of a vid?? Next time you run it, make sure theres heaps of blue smoke, not just a little bit lol, heaps of it!! And lets us know what happens!

I've been running it really rich, it bogs down sometimes and the smoke is pouring out - and still it overheats.

you sure you have 18% oil in the fuel ??
is it the right stuff
without the glow plug in can u turn the motor freely by hand after it is hot , or only cold ??

Sounds serious !
Better break out the wallet !

An O.S Max 18CV-RX 11G is a quality motor you would have to loose the EZ start though
Fit with some cutting to the chassis I am told

________

You could upgrade to a 2.5 engine (kit) for around $150 US. Or maybe get a rebuild kit (sleeve and piston) for the .15 - around $50 US

Have you checked to see if it's just flooded?

yer mate i know exactly wat the issue is. Take your fuel line and run it direct to the carb not arround the cooling head TRUST ME thats the problem

Thats a point, if the lines actually touching the cooling head, could be the prob.. I just lengthened mine so it sits about 10mm away from the head.. Worked good so far!!

Its only 15%, but still goes great, should make the mota last a little longer too.. and he makes it in BULK, he even supplies the stockcars so he must know his stuff!

Well, I've richened up the mix by another 1.5 turns. I took it for a run today althought I only had 1.5 tanks of juice. The car ran pretty sluggish at first but after a couple of high speed runs it smoothed out. I got through 1 tank before it stopped, It felt fairly hot, so I waited 10 mins and richen up the mix again, once again it ran a bit sluggish at the start but smoothened out again - then I ran out of fuel.

I'm also now going to redirect the fuel line so it does not run around the head - this also should help.

thanks guys for the comments, I think I am well on the way to getting the car to run correctly without overheatin'.

Thankyou exactly what I said ,Although the boiling fuel in the line is the main cause I had already rerouted the fuel line by adding a filter and another section of pipe around the front shock tower so its quite long , this gives it a longer running time when its upside down after a crash. you will always need to start off as if it is too rich untill you can give it the boot.
