Default Project: RC10GT... BIG BLOCK!!

I had an idea today at work. Take my rc10gt and swap out the 18tz for the LRP .28 Spec 3 that is in my Hellfire. I have a spare motor mount that I had for a savage so all I will need to do is drill hole in the chassis and get the screws to hold it down. should be pretty easy to do it should only be about an hours work. the only problem That I am going to have is firguring out the header and exhaust pipes. I will post the results when I have them!

OK here is a quick Vid of it. this is the first time I have tried to post any video so we will see how it works. the camera battery kept o dieing so none of the videos turned out real well. this is the best one I got of it. near the end the pipe got wedged on the tire which is why it stop moving.

I strapped 2 D batteries on the front to try and keep the nose down and it still flips over backwards at 30mph and half throttle!

Yeah it didn't take very long. I had the engine just sitting in my hellfire that is waiting for parts to get fixed and I had the spare engine mount from a savage. All I had to do was drill the mounting holes in the chassis to make it fit. it was suprisingly easy. I'm going to try and get a better video of it today. the camera batteries kept on dying. I really want to take it somewhere that I can try to open it up I couldn't do much more than half throttle and only for a splt second. I'm dying to see what this thing can do!![>:][>:]

Here is a new video from this evening. the camera was just sitting on the back of my car so it couldn't follow the action. I didn't get over 1/2 throttle at all. I need to try and open it up all the way if I can manage to keep the wheels down. Bt this thing is just sick! I love overkill!

I'm sticking with my original comment...

OMG!!!! That's just stoopid! (in a good way) LOL

Try softening and lowering the rear suspension and lowering the front. If it squats when you give throttle the less likely it will want to flip over.

I would suggest adding some chassis bracing. I have the new era conversion on my gt and with the torque of the big block the chassis bends. The front is fine cause it has the double layer chassis but not from the front of the tranny to the engine. I also have a problem with breaking the center out of wheels. sure is a blast to drive though. good luck!

I dont have any pics of it yet even though i built it 5 years ago, never had the need to till now. I will take some as soon as i get a new engine. I robbed it to put in my lst. I also eliminated the slipper because either the disc would stretch and come out or it would get too hot and melt the spur no matter how tight it was.

what spur and pinion are you running? I run a 20 spur and a 56 pinion. It keeps the front end down a little better at lower rpms but still accelerates faster than any other car I have. Top speed is crazy. With this combo, I can be running at 3/4 throttle and pull a wheelie when i open it up.
