Default Can You Identify This Buggy?

As my Login states, I used to race my Tamiya King Cab at the local Hobby Shop in the UnMOD class. Truck still runs, Ijust wish Iupgraded to the THORP trans setup when Iwas racing 20 years ago. Doesn't help I still run a motor that has been tweaked.

I picked thisbuggy/truck (front axles look to be set up for 4WD) for $~40 and I love to salvage stuff on the brink of being trashed.
Ihope to get it running and enjoy a little Nitro action.

Thanks for the look... Marc

Default RE: Can You Identify This Buggy?

Don't know that buggy, but the engine is an old OS CV12. That motor was pretty popular back in the early 90's...heck, maybe even earlier than that. I remember this motor back when nitro was taking off. There were kits to convert your electric car to nitro. It came with a chain (like a bicycle) to run power from the motor to the tranny. Holy crap, flashback

BTW, I'm just like you, I love to take oldschool stuff and get it running, I'm jealous!

So with the front axles stubs looking like they shoud have a dog bone, does it mean it was 4WD?

That is mostly a Duratrax Maximum BX. It was never 4WD. Those carriers just look like that. It is pretty cobbled, but not too far gone. It can be brought back to proper condition.
