what should i use
Hey people want to know what kind of tires to use on a rustler i was thinking on something that looks good like mashers do you recommend these.I have spikes in the rear and ribbed in front should i just stick with those instead.:)

RE: what should i use
it depends on where you drive it. the mashers are alot bigger, if you have a weak engine i wouldnt suggest them. if your current tires are still good you should wait untill you wear those out. if you drive on pavement that should be about 2 tanks. i ordered some trc park tires recently because i drive alot on pavement. oh and for the front you should keep the ribbed tires unless you get mashers then id go with the mashers in front also.

hi Bikeman. well i just put dirt hawgs on mine and it can pull wheelie's and it has lots of grip..they look cool also.thats just what i have there are prob. ten other combos..by the way i have them on all 4 cornners..:D

sponer- do the front tires grip very good when you corner? do you get understeer?
|
RE: what should i use
well theres really nothing that i have read that will take the understeer away...yesterday i finally took the battery's off the rear end and zip tied them to the frt. shock mount.. this did improve the steering a bit but it is nose heavy..i still have understeer but i'm going to work on the shocks and springs now and try to get it to turn better....

RE: what should i use
just incase you are wondering i'm runnig the rusty pro .15 not the 2.5

RE: what should i use
i dont get bad understeer with ribbed tires. of coarse i do when i give it too much throttle but what do you exspect when you get the front wheels off the ground. i bet the mashers would grip good in the front.

RE: what should i use
well with the dirt hawgs, they do grap really good when you let up on the throttle..i'm not in to raceing yet so it about 75% WOT and 25% turning..yesterday my son a i had to learn how to use the throttle in the air or it would always land on the RPM wide frt. bumper..thats where you find out that the battery moving was really differnt..it was great going off a 5 ft high mound and landing out about 7 ft... did break the frt bulk head but not sure if it was from yesterday or last week:D.

RE: what should i use
remember the slope of the jump has alot to do with nose diveing. maybe its not steep enough. a battery doesnt weight a whole lot but i guess you did move it really far.
|
RE: what should i use
no the slope was steep enough aright.. and we were jumping into a 7-10mph wind..it was so hard to land b/c when you got the nose at the right angle the wind would kite the truck and then you had to brake and throttle to get it level..it was sure a learning day of bashing.

RE: what should i use
The car gripes very good and i do alot of off road driving just wanted bigger tires to lift it up a little more .
|
RE: what should i use
the dirt hawgs are just alittle bigger than the stock pins that came on mine. it made it look like it raised the truck about an inch...go to your LHS and put them side by side and you'll see the diff.
|
RE: what should i use
if you are looking for ground clearance i would get mashers. they lifted my evader almost an inch. they have great grip also. i highly recommend them.
