Need advice...
 

I am new to the r/c market and am currently trying to figure what kind of truck to get, a monster or stadium truck. I am not going to try to race competitively, I just want something to have fun with. Can anyone give me an idea of how versatile the stadium trucks are? Are they only good on dirt/gravel, or can they run in grass too? I would prefer a stadium truck for the speed and handling they offer, but I don't want to buy something that I can only run in a few different types of terrain. Also, what are some of the better nitro stadium trucks in the $300 - $350 range? Any help would be great.

I am looking at 4 trucks right now:

Traxxas Rustler (speed)
Losi XXX-NT (reliability)
HPI Nitro RS4 MT2 (4X4)
Nitro Rush EVO

Which one would be the best all around truck for just having fun and bashing in different types of terrain?

the xxx nt is a great truck. for bashing you might want to look at the rc10 gt.

Maybe the Rustler 2.5 or XXX-NT. I also like some of the HPI trucks. What I would really like to know is how good these trucks handle off-road terrain. If they are only good in dirt or sand, I would rather have a T-Maxx or SportMaxx for just bashing around. The guy that I will be running with most of the time has a nitro Stampede and I need something that will be able to keep up.

the Hpi mt2 is 4wd, so decide if you want 2 or 4wd. i have a rustler and am really happy with it, and in a few days, i am gettin an mt2 so ill tell you how i like it when i get it

yea i also really like the 2.5 rustler... dont have any engine problems doesnt break that often.. just the every once in a while $4.00 fix.

i finally got to see my uncle's mt2 and that things pretty sweet... i still prefer the rustler over it, but that truck is still pretty fast and durable.

If you're just going to be bashing, why not get the 4WD truck? For bashing, I'd always prefer 4WD to 2WD.

I didn't know if it would be worth the extra $ to go with the 4WD, especially in a stadium truck. Thought it would slow the truck down. Speaking of speed, which RTR, the Rustler, XXX-NT, MT2, or EVO, is fastest out of the box anyway?

The Rustler will spank that ass on the top end and acceleration if you can drive it...

If it's mostly for bashing,
I'd recommend a 4wd truck they handle way better in low traction environments
2wd STs are really designed for “Track” racing. You get in loose stuff and they just spin around allot
the monster trucks are a lot more fun to bash IMO

there is a really great truck that is like the nitro mt, its called the academy rt4 gp..... its an animal, 4wd, and fast
