Lighten up
What are some things I could to do to my RC10gt to make it lighter? Or some things I could buy for it to make it lighter? But I want to keep the durability there.

RE: Lighten up
I would say Aluminum suspension parts like a-arms. Maybe some titanium parts too. That would be your best choice for durability. Although Al and Ti parts still break depending on how hard you bash!!

RE: Lighten up
aluminum suck with bashing, stick with plastic. i bent my aluminum a-arms i got a while ago, but all my titanium pieces never broken. andthing u can get make sure its plastic or titanium.

RE: Lighten up
well you might sacrafice a little strength but heres my suggestion: get all graphite a-arms, shock towers, and whatever else is made in graphite, buy some titanium turnbuckles, hinge pins, ball studs, front axles, and anything else that is steel and avalible in titanium, then stainless screw kit(unless you have $100 to spend on titanium screws). do you have a pull start? if so get a starter box, and take off the pull start(about 2-3 ounces).

RE: Lighten up
get a hardcore racing chassis and shock towers and front tube mounts. then get new era Ti front tubes. then buy all RPM products. Dump MIP Cvd's Get Ti turnbuckles screws a Non-pullstart engine lightweight tires and rims. light reciever and servos. a zero-maintence steering setup. Ti linkage balls. ball bearings throught. That and even drilling a few holes in the chassis will help even though i dont cause i dont need more dirt in my RC10GT[8D]

RE: Lighten up
Dude you can get entire Ti screw sets off of ebay for like 32-35 bucks plus shipping. for the XXX NT and the XXX T that is, my friend got a set for his XXX T and is slowly replacing each one.
I agree w/ Eric, Get the graphite A arms, shock towers, chassis brace, etc.. Lunsford hinge pins/turnbuckles, and screw / ball sets get them Ti. You should notice a difference. |
RE: Lighten up
i am getting all rpm racing parts for my gt plus rtr. go here and check them out www.rpmrcproducts.com they are made out of a nylon i think but they are stronger than the stock parts, lighter is what ive heard. and anypart broken they will send you a new one. and they come in blue! they dont have shock towers but get some titanium for that and then some lunsford or get the factory team blue titanium turnbuckles and all that cool stuff
