i think you should get it, if all your doin is jumping then it is a great ruck. the only problems i had with it were the rear shocks and the rear shock tower, i busted a shock cap and broke the tower once, i have an alluminum tower and some alluminum shocks, now its all good...

If you want to jump and have fun with your truck get the hpi mt 2.. If you want to zoom up and down the streets get the rustler.. But they break easy.. One hit into the curb and u will be replacing some parts.

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

hhmm, one hit into a curb at 50 with any car and you'll be replacin parts, but if your hitting curbs, thats just being a bad driver...

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

i love the trx 2.5, mine always ran great and never had any problems with tuning, and this is my first nitro car... the websites you will learn to love the most are www.towerhobbies.com www.rdracingproducts.com and www.misbehavin-rc.com misbehavin-rc has alot of usfull information, even if you dont get a nitro rustler, but the best places for hop-ups are www.rdracingproducts.com and people like www.rc-part.com for rims...

Skull is right. The best places for hopups are rdracing and rc-parts. As long as you break in the engine per the instructions you'll find the engine is sweet with very few tuning issues. The rear shock tower and bulks were the first to go on mine right after I burned out the tires on pavement during break in and had to replace those. It is extremely fast and hard to control at first but you'll get the hang of it. You might want to rebalance it a bit for huge jumps (over 10ft) otherwords it's all good. This truck has been hours and gallons of fun. I had to replace my 2.5 after a nasty incident with a f150 but all is well now. Oh yeah ssracing and neweramodels also make parts/hopups for it.

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

powerade 05-18-2004 05:07 PM

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

Zach your electric rustler only has 2 hop ups, a rooster witch u fried and a 15 turn motor..

<conrad> 05-18-2004 05:18 PM

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

i got more ***** than that

powerade 05-18-2004 05:20 PM

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

well if you dont got the aluminum parts then you should just get the mt-2

but if you really wanna spend tons of money on your rustler probly around 200 to get all aluminum, it would be pretty sweet but that motor isnt the best either and you might want to upgrade that too

but i dont see why you just dont want to get a mt and it would save you alot of money and trouble, but its your call gl

<conrad> 05-18-2004 05:37 PM

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

cause i like speed more than anything but i want an off road truk see the rustler is fast 52 and the mt is not 41 the mt is more durable the rustler is not but all i need is alluminum shocktowers and have the shocks bottom out before the chassie pluse the rus is easier to work with, with the one gear and all plus i like buying thing and upgrading it its a hobby lol

powerade 05-18-2004 05:41 PM

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

what you mean by having the shocks bottem out before the truck? you mean get threaded shocks and tighten them so your truck cant bottem out??? thats just gonna break your shock towers and a-arms and arm braces even if there aluminum they will break

and both trucks are simple to work. but the rustler only has 1 gear witch sucks, its better to have 2 gears

<conrad> 05-18-2004 05:48 PM

RE: Nitro Rustler should i get it?

why is it better to have 2 instead of one and what if the shock towers were titanium
