Steering Servo?
I have a Nitro Rustler with a Fantom .12 engine and an Assiciated low end pipe. What steering servo should I get? A guy at my local track showed me how fast his servo was and it was insane! He said that a good, fast, strong steering servo makes all the difference, even if it's a Rustler. By the way, I have a JR XR3 radio with the stock Traxxas 2055 high torque servo for the steering.

RE: Steering Servo?
It doesnt have to be that fast. Just make sure that its a metal gear servo so that if you ever reun into anything your servo gears wont strip.

RE: Steering Servo?
Fast and strong are good to have
How much money are you willing to spend? |
RE: Steering Servo?
i have a jr 590 would work great w/ your reciever, metal gears and the whole 9. I like it, i run mashers sometimes, and it hasnt stripped, (knock on wood) lol I would probably replace it w/ a nother 590 if it goes.

RE: Steering Servo?
Remember the hump-pack battery has much more current available than throw-away batteries so simply changing it is going to make a difference. Coupled with a hi-torq servo like the Hi-tec 645 these make for a great steering setup.

RE: Steering Servo?
Yo, if it aint metal gear, it aint right!!! 50 bucks, and it'll be the last steering servo you'll have to buy. Just make sure you put a servo saver on that ****!
|
RE: Steering Servo?
yeah make sure you put the servo saver on that **** ..... naw.... I have an associated MG servo in my Sandmaster, it runs great... smooth, doesn't stick..... never stripped it in the 2 years I've run it... I got it for $11.00 on ebay

|
RE: Steering Servo?
yep that would work if you have the $$$
|
RE: Steering Servo?
Mo*****u**** iz u crazy? I said like 50 dollars. Get your ***** down to your hobby shop and pick up a metal gear servo. Damn, get some act right boy!!!

RE: Steering Servo?
I want to go all out, but not all out to a $130 digital servo with 220 lbs/in of torque and a speed of .08 sec/60* (even though that would be bad A*S). That $85 servo is as high as I'm going. I want a lot of torque and a lot of speed, but for as cheap as possible, which is going to be about $85 for my specifications.

RE: Steering Servo?
that is a really nice servo, all metal, freakin torque. I would like that although it would be overkill lol. Nice though.
but i still recommend the z590 but if your looking for digital.. hmmm. i dunno then. I have yet to get that high end. lol |
