hpi mt2 tuned pipe

i just got the hpi tuned pipe for my mt2. On installation I noticed that the fitting to hook the fuel line from the pipe to the tank comes directly off the bottom. It reduces ground clearence and I am afraid the fuel tubing will not last from very long down there. Anybody else install this pipe and what did you do about this?

Thanks

Which tuned pipe did you get? Is it the A940 or another aftermarket pipe? If it's the A940 let me know how it works for you.

I have this pipe and do not like it very much.

1) Its a pain in the ass to install. I actually nipped away at the fuel tank support bracket to clear some room for the pressure tube

2) The pressure line comes off the bottom of the pipe. What a crappy placement.

3) It is not very durable. I think that my output tube began to bend 2 or 3 runs into it.

4) It's expensive

Just my experience.

Hey thanx! I was really hesitant to spend 50 bux on a pipe. What Associated pipe specifically do you recommend? I'm looking for alot more low end.

Any of the pipes that are rated for .12 - .15 will fit.

I have seen this pipe on an MT2:

The pressure nipple is on the back so it is more in the middle. You can mount it either on the left, Rush, or right, MT2.

jb weld the hole shut and drill a new pressure fitting hole in the top. i had to do that with my street car.

Not to be mean, but this is the one product that HPI could have engineered better. If you have to use JB Weld after spending 50 bucks - wrong part.

Use something better.

I just bought a CVEC for mine - I'll give updates as to my likes dislikes.
