Tires...and some more

What do you guys think would be the best for use on all four tires in grass, dirt, gravel, street etc.
Either...
1) Gladiators with medium xtm inserts (have to use the medium xtm's)
2) Dirt Hawg 2's with medium xtm inserts (once again, have to use the medium xtm's)

I will be doing mostly street and grass with some dirt and gravel thrown in. I want the tire to last long and still offer good traction. I heard running tires such as those above on all 4s will improve traction/steering in areas such as grass. Thanks in advance!

Also, can you guys reccomend a reciever hump pack and charger which will work together with little to no modification?

Gladiator 2's aren't good for street.

Dirt Hawgs indeed!

dirt hawgs are bad on dirt but they grip well on the street, but they make ur truck tippy and wear faster on pavement, but all off road tires do. you will get better performance if u use front tires for the front, im not sure why some people think that rear tires are the best for up front, use somthing like edges or blades up front, front tires are lighter and have a tread pattern meant to provide side bite.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the name?[sm=confused.gif]

ya it would, but there not that great on dirt.

Well are the dirthawgs good on grass? The reason i heard to use tires such as dirt hawgs all around is because it will give me better traction in the grass and decrease my turning circle.

I went from pins to hawgs on my ST-15 and got wheelies with the stock Tower15 on dirt!!! They are better suited to loose dirt than hard-packed though. When they are on the first 1/2 of their treadlife they will rip up the surface of a hard-packed track, but after they get some wear the pins hold better on packed dirt.

I am with you on running the blades up front rather than the 'hawgs all the way 'round...

A Monster-truck is better on grass, grass is too damn hard on an ST.... You will eat up spurs, wear out your clutch, run your motor hot on grass. Mashers are the best for grass but they suck-butt on pavement.

Gladiators and Gladiator 2s are great all round tires, I would get those.

Are the gladiators ok on the street? Im not looking for touring car performance, usually i just use the street to get soem speed for a jump onto the grass, or do one or 2 high speed runs down the street, stupid stuff like that. So what do you think i should go for. Gladiators in the rear and edge up front for the terrain im running on? Also, how are they longevity wise? I want them to last...

gladiators on street are a no no. If you want to do that, get the dirt hawgs in back.

RE: Tires...and some more

damn, so dirt hawgs are decent on the grass though right?
Well what if i ran my stockers when i wanted to run on the street and i used the gladiator/edge combo for when i was running in strictly the grass/dirt/gravel? Also is this the right edge tire... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDX55&P=7

Gladiators work great EXCEPT ON PAVEMENT. And yes those edge tires work fine, i have 2 sets myself.

Whats wrong with the gladiators on the street annyway?

you will wear them down to nubs.

you will bald them. Spikes on street = bad idea. thats why they have street tires so you dont hurt your spike. What i do is, get some hole shot, and ribbed and use those on street. you will bald them but you can use them for street.:D

I didn't say that they wear.... just that they suck butt on pavement. Even with your suspension dropped ALL THE WAY a fast turn with mashers on pavement will flip your truck in a heartbeat...

or when you go into a turn you could ease up on the gas so you dont...that would be the smart thing to do...
