ok so here is the deal i have an old rc10gt with an os .15cv-x engine and futaba electronics im trying to get running good. i got the engine goin good but now my steering is all messed up. the servos are working fine and the receiver is fine, the problem is where the little arm comes off the servo and connects to a little plastic piece which has a spring underneth it and then another plastic piece which connects to the steering arms. i know im gettin real technical with the lingo here but basically that last little plastic piece i mentioned is cracked and i cant steer. i went to my lhs and they said the part will be real hard to find since the truck is about 10 yrs. old. i believe they called it the servo saver.??? i need this piece> where can i get it and about how much will it cost? please help me i really need to get this truck running and it just makes me mad that i have the engine running but i just cant steer....

HI HIPHOPN

The guy running that LHS does not seem to know much about RC10GTs. Does he cary parts for the rc10gt if so tell him you want the steering asemble for the rc10gt. If he does not carry rc10gt parts then go here. All together it will cost you 6 or 7 dollars with S. & H.

it doesnt mater how od your truck is if its a GT then any new or old gt parts will fit it, they are just trying to make you order the parts through them so they can make money of you

That previous link was just the horns. This is the whole kit: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LX3359

I had to buy one a few weeks ago.... The rod that ties right-side motion to left-side motion is different in my link, it is a fized length unlike yours, which is adjustable.

As to being bored.... I have my controls laptop out on the production line.... I have some time to kill; I'm backing up our robots and I've tied up our office network with our process network; I can surf from the plant floor...

that still doesnt look like what i need. that one is connected where the sterring arms meet and screw into the chassis but mine are connected up above. there are also extra scres on that saver where mine has none.

Nope, that IS the replacement for your truck....

Open paint and circle the part that is broken in the pic you posted if you are still unsure...

Dude, I circled the piece that actually hooks to the right front wheel to turn it.... If you need the piece that the servo turns, it's the piece to the left of what is circled.... I circled the part that YOU circled and I'm SURE that's it...
You only need the cheapie part in the first link that AJ made, not the whole setup that I linked to.

So is it the aluminum button then or the post? Either way, the whole kit I linked to swaps it ALL out...

Frost_ 11-01-2004 03:07 PM

RE: steering

Alright, enough beating around the bush TAKE THE BROKEN PIECE OFF and photo it.... that way there will be no speculation as to what you "intended" to circle...

RE: steering

those peices snap off that rod haw? i thin t6hat is y i couldnt figure out how it would fit on my truck

Frost_ 11-01-2004 03:30 PM

RE: steering

Dude, those pieces are just on a parts tree like nearly ALL plastics come, particularly molded...

by the cheap setup that AJ linked. Whenever you snap an end on those balls make sure you support them from underneath, I broke the the lower unit that the servo linkage hooks too trying to press it on without supporting the bottom-side...

You have a old generation 1 servo saver steering bell-crank. That thing is 7 0r 8 years old. The links above show the new ver. You are able to do more with it.
