BAD RANGE, HELP!!!
My car only got a range of 20ft!! I overheated my batteries that i used to controll the steering once. It still worked though. Also, the reciever attenna was cut short. Those are 2 possiblities? Any1 got any ideas which one it could be or other things that might affect the range. Its not the transmitter, i bought a new one and it has the same problem.

ORIGINAL: Nitro Rustler Racer if the antenna was cut shprt then you definetly have bad range, get a new reciever What a waste of money. It's kind of like a tax on ignorance (no offense but 2 bucks versus 40 or so?) My antennae on my savage has been cut literally 3 times... and you have a few options. 1. You spend 2 dollars and the get replacement wire or 2. If you are ultra-slack and don't mind crapping up your truck you can get the replacement wire and cut off a length that is equal to what is still on your RX and make a splice. or 3. spend 30-50 dollars for a new RX I HIGHLY recommend number 1. |
RE: BAD RANGE, HELP!!!
if the antenna is cut short on the car then you cant just put or tape another one on it would affect the connection and cause glitches
and make sure that the antenna is not touching any mettle too but you can just take it to your lhs and buy a new one for like 1 or 2 dollors and you have to WELD it on you cant tape it or anything like average price should be lest than 15 dollors |

RE: BAD RANGE, HELP!!!
it looks kinda hard to solder new wire directly too rx. Also wut length should the wire be??? I know specific frequencies need specific lenghts. Mine is 75mhz. (PS: Frost, calm down, would u like to sing "I feel pretty"? lol, i understood wut they meant by weild. Oh yeah, wut bout the rolling chasis?)

Tin your wire and just heat the tinned end up on the pad. The last one I replaced took about 5 minutes, most of that was removing the RX. ...and maybe you misunderstood me earlier, I didn't say to just get some wire, I said to buy the replacement for your RX. |

ORIGINAL: Frost_ ORIGINAL: shadowknight uhm first i know what im saying my antenna was cut short on the car so just pleese stop picking on me ok i the lhs fixed it by welding it back on ok PCB level repairs are made by SOLDERING, which is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PROCESS THAN WELDING. Stick to arguing about what you know, and I'll do the same. |

If I was you I would go with an equal length of wire and solder it on and go from there , hopefully that will do the fix for ya:D |

RE: BAD RANGE, HELP!!!
I just pointed out he was being a dick I did not start with name calling OP: Yes, the reciever wire is probably the problem. It needs to be the full factory length. Everybody else: grow up  |
RE: BAD RANGE, HELP!!!
oh i didnt know that they have replacement wires
|
RE: BAD RANGE, HELP!!!
This wire is for Futaba Receivers: http://store.savagess.com/product_in...roducts_id=461
If you have a differ RX and can't find the lead, I recommend measuring the broken pieces against this type of wire as a replacement. At $1.90 you will prob. have to pay more for shipping... |
