Temperature Outside

Okay I am getting the HPI MT2 in today from Fedex. The temperature outside is 24 degrees. I have read that the engine needs to get to a high enough temperature to break it in correctly. I've also read about using aluminum foil around the engine to keep it warm. I don't have a heat gun to check the temperatures so is there any other test I can do. I'm really anxious to get this engine broken in so I can ride it around the streeet some in the snow so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, all I can say is that you shouldn't need to worry about the temperature. I'm currently breaking my DT-10 in, here in England.

The temperature is around 3 - 13 degrees here in Newcastle, and my car runs fine. But just for safety, before driving it off, I leave it for about 3 minutes or so at a standstill. That warms the baby up well and truly.

Hi Dewgel,

You break in it at -15C / 5F. Otherwise than wait to warm it up for 3 minutes. Did you put foil around the head of the engine? i ask you that because i plan to buy a nitro car and play with it during winter time there in Quebec.

No, I didn't.

My car's got NO customisation on it, whatsoever. I got it on christmas day, and just started using it about 4 days ago.
