Rc10gt FactoryTeam Diff Problems ~ HELP!
Hey guys... Been a member here for a while, but *knock on wood* I haven't had to go searching for answers to problems too often. But I have one now!! HAHA. Ok, A while back, my Diff Thrust bolt got sheared off right underneath the head of the bolt. I replaced it, and it hasn't really stayed tight since. It occasionally loosens itself and then the truck refuses to go anywhere. I'm thinking since I have some larger tires (equivalent in size to the masher /masher 2000 tires by proline) it's not helping my situation. I even tried threadlock on the bolt/lock nut (while taking care to keep it out of the diff). Anyone have any ideas what's going on? Over tightening diff? Not tight enough? Help!![X(]

When you ajust the diff you should tighten the bolt untill you feel the spring comppresed and then loosen it 1/8th of a turn. The diff should be smooth and not slip.

loctite: mine was doing the same thing. actually, both my RC10GT and my RC18T would do the same thing and I just used loctite on both. no problems now. use blue though, not red cos you want to be able to adjust it...

If you are still having problems, check out a company called Niftech. they make a really nice diff for the GT that I had in my last truck. The nut that goes on the other side of the diff actually has set screws in in that will lock the screw in place so that it can not come loose. They arte a bit pricey, but are fabulous parts.
