starter boxes
since the other forums seem to be ghost towns, and I want answers.. figured I'd ask here..
who makes a starter box that will fit an RC10 and XXX-NT both? also, does the pull starter need to be removed to use a box? any other comments on starter boxes are more than welcomed.. it looks like I'll be picking one up soon.. |
RE: starter boxes
Usually you buy a starter box for one particular car/truck because you install small plastic pegs to match the chassis of the car/truck to where it needs to be on top of the box when you want to start the car/truck. This makes it easy to fit the flywheel to the starter wheel without anytrouble. one box can certainly fit both trucks, but the pegs wont line up for each truck because they have different chassis. Get it?
BTW: I love my starter box. |
RE: starter boxes
im a pullstart guy its easy and not to hard to start with a good tune/plug i can give it 1 tug and have it roar to life so im just a pullstart guy:D

RE: starter boxes
but I think I should be smart enough to align the wheel with the flywheel right? there can't be that much torque going on.. I don't want to carry one box for each chassis.. somehow that's not being efficient and I'll need to get a moving van to go race :(
I don't think I saw anyone at the track with several boxes, yet everyone was racing several classes... (could it be that they were all electric classes? hmmmmmm) :D:D [sm=RAINFRO.gif] I was looking at this: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHAR1&P=ML |
RE: starter boxes
My ofna box is almost exactly like that one. The inch long slot-grooves are where the pegs mount. It's harder than it looks to line up the fly wheel with the spinning rubber wheel from the box without useing some sort or guide, that's what the pegs are for.
And people who run in more than one class wont use a starter box for more than one of the cars/trucks. |
RE: starter boxes
Yeah at my track thaey have like 3-4 starter boxes on a table and people just walk over and start em up.
