new engine in evader

I am planning to replace the stock dtx engine with a .18 cv-rx OS. I wanna know if it is a 100% direct fit ( swap out engines, no ohther hassles) and if i needed to do anything to the car besides maybe aluminum idler and differential.??

Yes it's a direct fit long as you don't get the slide carb one. I run it and only had to fix my slipper clutch assembly...I added 2 slipper pads cause my stock setup kept slipping under full throttle....other than that I've done nothing except add tires it ripped the stock ones right up. The OS .18 isn't that much more power than the duratrax it just develops its power faster and hits higher RPM's. Your Evader will be way faster than it ever was with the durtrax engine...you'll backflip it at will :D

No, dont you want the rotary carb. That is what the dtx .18 is. I got the rotary and it is also a direct fit. Are you sure you need the slide carb

You misunderstood, he said as long as you don't get the slide carb.

it's easy to fit the slide carb, just turn the throttle servo round & change the horn you run the control arms on. you don't need to buy any new pits, the ball cups come in the engine box. but on such a small engine you probably wouldn't notice any increase in performance over the rotary carb.

Either engine will work...he asked for the one without any mods...slide carbs don't add any more power than standard carbs...the bore and functions are exactly the same...it's just the layout changes...to gain performance from a carb you'd need larger jetting and increased carb size or bore of carb...Nitro's are far from efficient engines so adding power is easier at other means...tuned pipe...better air filter to allow more air into the engine...more nitro content to the fuel....different glow plug heat ranges...and of course tuning...a rich engine has less power of a lean engine even though the richer engine will outlast the leaner one
