RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
The biggist probles the rusty would have in the snow are the electronics getting wet, make shure that everything is water tight fist. I am not shure if the t maxx tires would fit the rusty i believe the mouts are different size (call a hobbie shope and ask them) but even if they were the right size you would have to chop nearly the entire rear fenders off in order to get clearence and this would in turn throw snow straight towards the engine, My advise is just to stay away from the snow paddel tires are made for the rusty ( they are the 2.2" sand paws by proline) but from what iv heard the paddel tires in the snow dont work too well because they just spin like crazy and dig a hole without moving it forward any.
My advise is just to wait out the snow water and rustys dont mix too well |

One thing to keep in mind when running cold weather is make sure your temperatures are not to low. To low temperatures is all most as bad as to hot! Some wrap something like aluminum foil around the head to increase temperatures during cold weather.

RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
What do all paddel tires look like?? the sand paws have a offset paddel that alternates sides, But Im telling you sand tires and snow DONT MIX, the paddels will just clear out the snow under them and leave the truck in a hole. Iv tryed with my ATV, the stock nobbies actually got threw the snow better because they would ride on top of the snow and not try to plow threw it. The rusty has a hard enoufgh time getting threw the sand witch is much harder than the snow and will alow the tires to get more grip my advice is to try the spikes but you might have to cut away portions on the body and expose the engine to the roost from the snow
Somethin with an "agressive" tred may be a good choice though somethin like in the link below http://cgi.ebay.com/Pro-Line-MOAB-2-...QQcmdZViewItem |
RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
I ran various tires on my truck last winter, and by far the sand paws were by FAR the best tire. first of all, rc trucks are too heavy and don't have enough clearance to be able to go through fresh powder no matter what tire. There is too much power and too little traction, they just dig down instantly. anyway, the sandpaws were a huge improvement compared to everything else, given the right conditions. (parking lots after a fresh couple inches of snow were great, HUGE roostertails of snow!)
|
RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
A couple of inches i can understand but if you get anything high enoufgh to high center the truck you are just looking for trouble unless the snow is packed like a ski slope then it will be hard enoufgh for the paddels to dig in and move the truck forward

RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
i have sand paws all the way around, and theyre awesome... there about 3 inches of snow on top of glare ice about a half inch thick...works very very good in my opinion

2 wheel drive revo with proline paddles, it doesnt get any better.
|
RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
i got chains off of ebay. two for about 8 bucks. i switched to a mt2 and sold my rustler because it just spun out on the ice though. 4wd is better. but whatever floats your boat.
|
RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
Why would you make your revo 2wd? 4wd would be way better i would think. whats the advantage for you?

my revo is 4wd, but it stripped out the front diff, so until i fix it it is 2 wd. and in the snow it doesnt throw up as much inside the body which helps with the electrics staying dry.and as you can see it still flys with the paddles in 2wd.

RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
hey i wanna know how to water proof send me pics and stuff to [email protected] for the nitro rusty so i can run it in the snow
|
RE: snow driven nitro rustler?!?!?!?!
integy makes hex adapters that should be able to fit the rusty.....they are 17mm hexes, so you could use BIG tires
