RE: pull start of not
Get the HGI yank eliminator. What engine you have. There's nothing that goes on the engine shaft making better performance because your engine doesn't have to turn any other attachment. YOu need a drill and the Yank eliminator and you go. HERE
For the 8mm shaft. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXSN77&P=ML Or the 6mm shaft.http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXSG87&P=ML THe drill. http://shop3.outpost.com/product/385...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG |
RE: pull start of not
Now that I have astarterbox for my Rc10gt I LOVE IT. when racing nothing better, got me back into my GT since it starts right up everytime. Pull start on RC10 always gave me grief, MGT wasnt a problem but I still converted them all to roto/drill start Sh .28 and Mach .26
Starterbox for rc10gt roto/drill for big blocks Stav |
RE: pull start of not
I have a pull start still for my Evader, I don't even bother buying one of those lazy people electric starts. First or second pull with the engine tuned right and it fires right up.

RE: pull start of not
Bad thing about pull starts, it robs your engine of power. Its not alot, but when your out racen, every second counts.

RE: pull start of not
I do a lot of bashing, so the ease and light load of a pullstart makes thing very convenient. Also, if my starterbox batteries are dead, I can just resort back to the pullstart.
The starterbox is great for when I am not going too far(IE in front of my house, at a track, etc..). I got it for 25 or 30 bucks, with two batteries, off towerhobbies. Best few bucks I ever spent. I am a big fan of both, although, if you have a starterbox, you have many more options when it comes time to get a new engine. About 3 days after my S-box came in the mail, we went to RCX. At RCX, I found a brand new .18 engine for $40, I just had to get it. The engine was a non-pullstart and if I hadn't gotten that starterbox, I would have had to pass up that deal. That is the same engine I used last time a ran my truck(a few months ago [&:] ). |
RE: pull start of not
pullstart...................
|
RE: pull start of not
pullstart because you dont have to charge any batterys except for the glow igniter every once in a while.

RE: pull start of not
Skullbasher I'm with you.... I have the pull start still on mine so when Im 3 blocks away from the starterbox, he pull the baby started LOL
I ordered a OS .12 cv-rx with pull start for that same reason.... Bottome line love the starterbox but still want the pull start Stav |
RE: pull start of not
ease of starting shouldn't be a consideration, any engine that is correctly tuned and primed should start in one or two pulls anyway. (as you can probably tell, pull start all the way! I have an airplane starter with a rubber starting wheel I can use instead of a box, but rarely bring that out)

RE: pull start of not
Ya but how many times have I cut my finger/Hand pull starting my Rc10gt reaching in the lid to start it.... Heck once I pealed my friggin fingernail back... OUCH!!!! Ok doesnt happen that much... But agreed good tuned engine starts right up, But starterbox saves Blood for me LOL
Dang I love this hobby Stav |
RE: pull start of not
I honestly miss my pullstart a little since I removed it months ago because carrying a staterbox sucks. My truck was tuned great, very rarely more than 2 pulls to start. Although a buddy with the same stock truck as mine left me in his dust everytime. Only difference was his pull start was off. So obviously mine had to go, once I saw the extra power I've never went back.
