diff oil weight for Jato?
 

Ok guys, I need some help. I am new to 2 wheel drive stadium trucks. What is a good wt oil to put in the diff? Itcomes with 30wt shock oil. I want to make it hook up better and not spin out as easily. It comes with shock oil, so can diff oil be used? Any advice would be appreciated since I am new to this. Been running a savage for a few years and this is so different. Also,has anyone had any experience with the proline dirt works tire? I will be running on short grass and dirt and sometimes on the street in front of my house. I am afraid Edges and something like Bowties will be a waste of money for the grass and occasional pavement. Need some advice fromyou pros out there.

I run 50K diff oil... But I run mostly on dirt... You may want to start around 30K... and yes diff oil leave the shock oil behind. The proline dirt works are a good all around tire. If you are just out having fun you will have fun with them.

Same here, it feels like a ball diff with that wt oil

why do you run dif oil? doesnt it say on the tranny no oil?

Yeah, but the differential needs oil to work properly and not overheat. If you read the manual you will see that it needs oil, but they recomend the too light shock oil when it really needs diff oil. This is my two cents, I'm not going to say anymore, because everytime this discussion comes up people want to argue and fight

I don't know about tires and wheels so much, but for diff I will use heavier shock oil if or when it needs it according to manual. Yeah, this subject always gets out of hand so do what you want and no offense to anyone but I have found that my stuff lasts longer when I follow the manuals first, and if that don't work then I try something else.
