Rustler Engine
I am wanting an upgrade from the TRX 2.5, what is the biggest engine that will fit into the rustler, i dont really want to be changing anything to put it in, but if i have to i will.
Does the OS .18TM fit? is there anything better then this engine? thanks |
RE: Rustler Engine
trx 2.5r is fine, i got one, trade in ur old trx engine for that one and the thing will roar
|
RE: Rustler Engine
the os should fit. theres also the .18 cv-r, that one requires only a little modifiying.
|
RE: Rustler Engine
so they OS 18TM fits with moddin or will it just drop in?
|
RE: Rustler Engine
if your looking for all the power you can get buy the .18 tz over 2 hp and its cheaper in price than tm
|
RE: Rustler Engine
Does it fit straight in? and will i need to change anything to make up for the extra power?
|
RE: Rustler Engine
might need to grind the brace that connect the tranny to the top plate and grind a little of the fins on the engine block but other than that drop right in also might need a new eghaust header as the stock one i don't believe will work
|
RE: Rustler Engine
What about the 18TM, will that just fit in? looking for an engine that will just drop in and stay away from modding if i can.
How fast will the rustler go with the OS18TM in it? |
RE: Rustler Engine
its supposed to fit the t-max no problem, but i have no idea about the nitro rustler. the tz has more power though, and rpms. the tm can make the revo fly, so it will be insane in the rustler, but the tz would be even more insane.

RE: Rustler Engine
Has anyone ever put a 18TM in a rustler?
|
RE: Rustler Engine
i put a .18 crv-r in my rusty! had to grind about 1/4 inch off the end of the carb, and change to biggest spur gear i could find, but yeeehaaa! this thing rips, move your batts. to the front, and invest in a wheely bar.
|
RE: Rustler Engine
Why the need to change to the biggest spur gear?
|
RE: Rustler Engine
That doesn't make much sense to me. The bigger the spur the more bottom end and torque. With that much power you should go down a bit to keep it controllable and from wheelieing.
