Thought i would start a thread about peoples bad and funny experiences with crashing their trucks and what the repairs cost.

RE: stack stories
there was one time that i was driving my evader on my street and i was jumping off the curb. well with one i let off the throttle too soon and my bumper got caught up on a lose piece of asphault (yes, my street is that poorly made) anyways, it sheared the bumper off, did an entire rotation in the air and then slamed the battery box down on the ground and broke it in half. i just thought it was interesting that i broke my st while driving on the street.

RE: stack stories
Ok this will only happen 1/100 trys. I got my truck off of ebay and had to fix it up and i was test driving it and the throttle got stuck wide open. The truck went out my driveway and went under a moving car(I thought it was over) and came out the other side. I waited for the car to pass to see what the damage was and it was sitting across the street idiling in my neighbours driveway. That was the most nerve recking thing that happened to me...lol

RE: stack stories
when I first got my t-maxx I was in my backyard playing.. I ran it to the end of the yard, grabbed a handful of trigger and was hauling across the yard!! The truck hit second gear and was off and flying, in the middle of the yard was a bump which I anticipated jumping... I hit this jump and the truck decided to get real airborne and while it was doing that, it cocked itself to the right and was headed to my garage. The truck hit the ground about 5 yards before the garage, so it had a great opportunity to gain a bit of momentum before hitting. I head nose first, looked at the truck and the entire front end was 45 degrees from the rest of the chassis.. after muttering the appropriate colorful words I looked at it, all I'd broken was an A-arm, and bent a suspension pin..

RE: stack stories
Worst thing I've done so far is break a few screws holding the steering cams on, torn my body up into many pieces with jumps and crashes, cracked my stock 75cc fuel tank (now replaced with a 150cc Monster GT tank), and bent a front wheel to an oval-looking shape when I hit a cement mailbox.

RE: stack stories
I was trying to get my truck running one day when I heard another truck, so I got it started and drove off to the other truck, throttle got stuck and I couldnt see it anymore, then I saw it cartwheel onto a neighbors yard and stop to find it resting in place, not idleing. The other guy went inside, I think our radios got mixed and screwed up. I was scared as hell but my truck was ok. I started it up again and went to bashing.

RE: stack stories
The exact same thing happened to me. I don't no what the deal was. I pulled the trigger back and when I let go of it, the trigger did not go to the nuetral position, it was jamed into full throttle. I was so scared and didnt want to see me jato take off down the street so I just slammed it into a curb, and then shut the car off. Only damage was I dinged up the front bumper :D. Is that what happened to you.

RE: stack stories
I"m jumping in my backyard. I have this 3ft retaining wall and I was jumping that, but on the top, there are huge landscaping rock. Well after getting some good jumps, I try to do a flip or something. This jump is big, and I end up doing half a flip and I land on one of the rocks! MY truck flips over, dead. THe rock busted my Cooling head into pieces and the shock tower was something of the past! Just a few bucks in damage, but I thought it was worse.

RE: stack stories
kwakr - Man that sucks... I've done that before, but I always have my left hand holding the front of the truck for if it wants to take off. I had forgotten to turn the receiver on, and it immediately full throttled. It scared me, but luckily I still had my hand on it and was able to turn the receiver on real quick.

RE: stack stories
well, i took my jato out down the local field to give it a bit of a tune up...my uncle came with his new havoc (which i bought for him for his birthday) we were burning about and he was getting a little close...i told him to back off, and keep a minimum safe distance...obviously that didnt stick in his tiny brain as he hit me doing about 35/40 mph..his car flipped about 10 times and landed upside down...mine looked ok, till i drove it back with the front left wheel bobbing about like crazy..snapped the A arm in half and bent the suspension shaft in the centre..not a bleeding scratch on the havoc!!!
lucky i bought all alloy parts for the jato..just waiting for them to arrive :) |
