Breaking in my engine

I cannot get this engine to run. It will run for about 1 sec then it will cut out. And when it cuts out the piston gets stuck at top dead center. I then I will get it un stuck and 1 pull on the string and it is stuck up there again. I tryed heating it up and all and it still does it. My engine is a brand new TRX 2.5r!! I need this engine to run!!

return the needles to factory setting, or are they already? prime it as your trying to start it, it sounds like your engine is runnin rich as heck, i would check the needles again definatly.

My 2.5R was very hard to pull. I tried it on a starter box and it wouldn't even do it. I just had to have a friend hold the truck down while i pulled the crap out of it. Make sure you have it primed good. I thought i had mine flooded when it started for the first time.

OK i will try....my main concern is trying to pull it and breaking my pull starter.

You could loosen the glow plug a bit and this would allow some compression to escape. I have to do this on my 7.5cc tunnel when I use an old starter, and it works great. I find this to take much less time than heating the engine up.

Just remember to tighten the glow plug up so it doesn't loosen and pop off later.

What did you try heating it with? Sounds like it didn't get hot enuff to swell the sleeve any.

So the plastic around the engine wont melt when I crank up the heatgun? Also I got some new tires and other things coming...is it okay to break in my engine with masher 2000's on it?

Before breaking in your engine, I would look over this thread. Be certain to read the whole thread as the important information follows the first few posts.
