RE: new engine
make sure it isnt flooded, i'd take the glow plug out and inspect for any visible metal shavings, then try to start it
|
RE: new engine
its not flooded and i did check for shavings and then i put it back together and now when you pull the starter nothing happens and i checked the one way bearing and nothing was wrong with it
|
RE: new engine
you mean when you pull the rope it free pulls? if so flip the oneway cause its on backwards.
|
RE: new engine
or the starter shaft isnt connected to the crank
|
RE: new engine
It shouldn't be on backwards or else it would have never started in the first place.
If you can pull it without feeling the engine turn over I would take the pullstarter off and inspect the one-way bearing. Turn it by hand. If it still doesn't catch, I would take it off and clean it with alcohol and then apply a very light oil. Ryan |
RE: new engine
it skips when you pulll it like something is slipping in the engine the one way bearing is fine because if you pull it slow it turns the engine over

RE: new engine
i put a brand new bearing on and it still does the same thing

RE: new engine
What engine is it? Are you sure it's getting fuel, my engine acts like that sometimes when I first try to start it, i have the os .18. I'd prime it really good and leave the glow igniter on your plug wihile primeing the heck out of it and pulling a bunch of times. Is your flywheel turning? Is your piston moving up and down. Take out your plug and give it a few pulls does it sound normal with plug out?

RE: new engine
pull the head off and see whats goin on. I've had this problem before, and it was bad news. Snapped con rod. Now, it might not be what your problem is, but its worth looking at. Pull the backplate off too just in case.

RE: new engine
just got a new connecting rod so thats not the problem could it be the crankshaft

RE: new engine
Just because its new, doesn't mean it wont break.
