tuning issues wtf

i have my x-cell and have not really had tuning issues befroe but now all the suddenn when it gets warmed up it boggs, alot,so i lifted the back wheels of the ground and gave it spme gas and that cleared it out, then when it was all the way warmed up,when i hit the gas it died, and when i hit the brake it died, can anyone help me?[&:]

sounds like the carb needs opening more, mine did that with my rush, im not an expert but take the air filter of and hald the brake in, make sure that the carb is not completly closed as this will cause it to die, the only other thing could be the idle needle needs turning up slightly if it stops when you break,

thats all i no myself but worth a try!!:D

You may have the same prob as crunch did with his that I helped him sort out.
Not the same car, but engines all tune the same more or less. -

Sounds like a definate case of the low speed mixture being too rich, killing the motor at low revs, especially when pulling away from tickover.
Try turning the low speed mixing screw clockwise (right) no more than 1/8 turn at a time to lean it out a little. - its the screw slot that looks just like a large screw in the side of the carb, don't confuse this with the main high speed mixture setting which is a different one.

Hope this helps you

thx chocks that was it,alsowhen it is at top speed it will spudder

RE: tuning issues ****

Depending on how it spudders it may be either to lean and casuing it to not go any faster and your just thinking it spuddering or it may be to rich on the HSN (high speed needle). Im thinking it is the HSN. The problem is as simple as just turning the HSN clockwise at 1/8th to 1/4 intervals until you reach the performance that you are liking. Now remember dont run it to lean or it will hurt your engine.

Yep, high speed needle sounds like it is a little too lean, trying to get extra revs out & it won't do it.
Richen it off a bit & it should be ok

bog=rich, sputter=lean, if it bogs lean the high end if it bogs after it started to move, if it bogs when trying to move then lean the low end. if it sputters on high end then richen the high end
