Nitro MT2 problem
 

hey everyone. i work at my LHS, and a customer came up to me today and she had a problem with her truck. She told me that they havent used it all winter, and now that her and her boyfriend want to paly with it they decided theyd take it out. so she tells me that when they start up the engine. it just goes straight. it wont even go into idle. i asked her if her batteries were charged and she said yes.

SO, the batteries in the tx and in the rx pack are brand new.. what can it be?? its just been bugging me for the last hour...


faulty radio gear? dead servo?

Is the receiver and radio working? With out the engine running is everything working? Do the wheels turn and the throttle servo work. You said it only goes straight so I am guessing the steering is not working. So I would say some sort of radio problem, bad receiver, bad crystal or crystal not in all the way, bad TX, not hooked up properly. I all so would recommend checking the batteries again. Check them with a volt meter as I have gotten bad brand new batteries.

like i said, this was a client, so i didnt really get to try much stuff on her truck.what she meant by it going straight was that the throttle, was like stuck. kind of like if her throttle servo wasnt working. she says whateer she tried to do, it wouldnt go into idle. it would just keep spinning and going. im pretty positive its a radio problem. but anywho. i sent her to one of our other shops. the guy over there knows far more nitro stuff then i do. im more of an electric guy.[8D]

looks like it may have been dead servo some times servos that have been left fro a long time will sieze and that is what may have happend especially if the buggy was put away after it had been run in wet or damp conditions the servo looks like it was the main prob let us know what your other shop was able to do

idle setting on the carb possibly. If it's set too far open it wont idle because it's getting too much air.

There are so many things it could be. You said it sat up all winter could be a gummed up carb. Throttle trim, yes a bad servo and more. Did you see the truck or just talk to her? If I was you I would recommend that she bring it in and let you check it out. A whole lot easier do figure it out when you are looking at it.
