Breaking it in correctly?
I have been breaking my jato in the way they show how to do it on the dvd. The thing is though is that i dont know if its working right. I have notice improvement after each tank but the motor shuts off sometimes and i have to put my finger over the exhaust pipe to get it started sometimes. Am i doing it right? Its just no one can show me how to do it properly so i need all the help i can get. Thanks. |

I have a rush evo and it was a ***** to run in. Here is my advice: Make sure the mixture is extra rich If the temerature is too hot then that can effect the running of the engine have the jato up on a block for the static break-in and make sure the wheels are just moving and not restricted.... if you see the engine reving too much then shut it down with a rag over the exhaust or throttle back a bit ( if you cant throttle back then use the idle stop) and persisting patience Just e-mail me if you have any problems on [email protected] I have broken in many cars and i can help... seriously dude i would heat cycle the engine it is the better way of breaking in an engine now days the on a block is very old school and can ruin the engine. U need to get the engine up to operating temps right away. here is how to do it and why it is better he is a very experienced with model engines and has a store where he ports and mods engines for poeple here in Australia look for the post by Massive Mods http://nitrobashers.com/forum/viewto...=asc&start=240

Heat cycling or the os method are the only 2 that i would use.
